Procurement Manager
We are looking for a Procurement Manager to own technology sourcing for IMC India. You will run the full cycle for IT hardware, software, network, data centre and technology services: from understanding what our engineers and traders need, to negotiating with vendors, to managing contracts and renewals.
You will work closely with Technology, Infrastructure, Information Security, Legal, Compliance and Finance in Mumbai, and with IMC's global procurement colleagues in other offices. You will also lead and develop a small team.
Key spend categories: servers, storage and low-latency network hardware; software licences and SaaS; data centre and colocation; telecom and leased lines; cloud services; end-user devices; IT services and support contracts; market data and connectivity.
Your Core Responsibilities:
Sourcing and negotiation
- Identify new vendors and service providers in India and globally, building a strong supplier base for each IT category.
- Run end-to-end sourcing for IT categories: requirements, RFI/RFQ/RFP, vendor evaluation, commercial negotiation and award.
- Negotiate pricing, SLAs, support terms, warranties, delivery timelines and licensing models with OEMs, distributors and service providers.
- Manage urgent hardware buys for trading infrastructure, balancing speed with cost and control.
- Reduce single-vendor dependency by identifying and maintaining alternative suppliers for strategic and critical categories
Market intelligence and forward planning
- Track IT market trends, pricing and supply conditions, such as rising memory, storage and GPU costs, component shortages, lead times and currency movements, and brief stakeholders on what they mean for IMC.
- Build close relationships with IT and infrastructure teams to understand upcoming needs early, and with vendors and OEMs to get early sight of price changes, product roadmaps and end-of-life notices.
- Use this insight to anticipate supply constraints and price rises and act ahead of them, for example by timing purchases, securing allocation or locking in pricing, and to spot savings opportunities.
Contracts and vendor management
- Review and negotiate MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, licence agreements and DPAs with Legal.
- Keep a contract register and renewal calendar so no licence, support contract or circuit lapses unplanned.
- Run vendor onboarding, due diligence and periodic performance reviews against SLAs and KPIs.
- Manage relationships with strategic technology vendors and escalate issues when needed.
Risk, compliance and controls
- Work with Information Security and Compliance on third-party risk assessments, especially for vendors with access to systems or data.
- Work with Finance to handle tax aspects of purchases, including GST, TDS, import duties and documentation for imported hardware.
- Keep procurement auditable: approvals, purchase orders, three-way match and documentation ready for internal and external audit.
- Partner with IT on hardware asset lifecycle: procurement, tagging, refresh cycles and compliant disposal (e-waste).
Budget, reporting and team
- Support annual IT budgeting and forecasting with Finance and Technology leads.
- Report on spend, savings, contract status and vendor performance.
- Improve procurement processes and tools, including the purchase-to-pay workflow.
- Lead, coach and develop 1–2 procurement specialists.
Your Skills and Experience:
- 8–12 years in procurement, with at least 5 years focused on IT or technology categories.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, supply chain or a related field. An MBA or a certification such as CIPS or CPSM is a plus.
- Solid understanding of IT hardware, networking, software licensing models (perpetual, subscription, enterprise agreements) and cloud pricing.
- Strong negotiation skills and a record of measurable savings and better contract terms.
- Experience drafting and negotiating technology contracts and SLAs.
- Working knowledge of Indian procurement requirements: GST, TDS, import and customs processes, and vendor compliance.
- Experience in financial services, trading, or another regulated, technology-heavy environment is strongly preferred.
- Comfort with ERP and procurement tools [e.g. Workday, Coupa, SAP Ariba] and strong Excel skills.
- Clear communicator who can work with engineers, traders, legal and finance, and with global colleagues across time zones.
- Experience managing or mentoring a small team.
- Experience buying data centre or colocation services, low-latency network equipment or market data.
- Exposure to third-party risk management frameworks and information security questionnaires.
- Experience with software asset management (SAM) tools.
