Job Description

Company Description

At IMS Nanofabrication, we shape the future — one nanometer at a time. Headquartered in Austria, with subsidiaries in Vienna, Taiwan, South Korea, and the USA, we are a global leader in semiconductor technology. Our cutting-edge mask writers power the world's most advanced chip manufacturing, making high-performance smartphones, PCs, and data centers possible. By pushing the boundaries of nanofabrication, we enable innovation at the smallest scale — driving progress on a global level.

Job Description

Gain a rare end-to-end perspective on the complex software infrastructure behind our Multi-Beam Mask Writer systems. Working at the intersection of Software Development, HPC, Firmware, Testing, System Integration and Service, you will see how individual components come together, how new releases perform on our internal tools and how they ultimately support customer systems worldwide. In this role, you will prepare and support software upgrades, resolve infrastructure-related challenges and contribute to making our system architecture and deployment processes more reliable, standardized and maintainable over time.

Your Responsibilities

  • Design and implement infrastructure and architecture changes for our MBMW system control software
  • Prepare configurations, deployment packages, and detailed procedures for software upgrades on customer MBMW systems
  • Take ownership of detailed and partly manual configuration and upgrade-preparation tasks within historically grown processes, while actively helping us standardize, automate and simplify these processes over time
  • Coordinate software updates with local and on-site service technicians and support them in troubleshooting technical issues
  • Prepare and execute software upgrades on our internal alpha tools to enable testing and validation of new releases
  • Investigate and resolve software, system, and infrastructure issues across our MBMW platforms
  • Work closely with Application & Testing, System Integration Software, Software Development, HPC, and Service teams
  • Manage and configure a diverse technical environment, including Linux servers, virtual machines, embedded systems, high-performance computing clusters, networks, and application configurations
  • Continuously improve deployment processes, system reliability, documentation, and maintainability

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Three years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, IT infrastructure, system engineering, or a comparable role
  • Strong knowledge of Linux system administration
  • Practical experience with Git and version-control workflows
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and distributed system environments
  • Experience with embedded systems, virtualized environments, or HPC cluster hardware is an advantage
  • Structured and solution-oriented working style with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Very good English skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with international and cross-functional teams
