Associate Account Manager Overview:

 

Reporting directly to the Sales Director, the Associate Account Manager will support customer expansion efforts across an assigned portfolio of current Incident IQ customers. This role is designed for an early-career sales or customer relationship professional who is ready to develop the skills required to manage customer relationships, uncover growth opportunities, and contribute to revenue goals.

 

The Associate Account Manager will work closely with Account Managers, Customer Success Managers, and other internal partners to better understand customer needs, identify potential upsell and cross-sell opportunities, and communicate the value of Incident IQ’s products and services. Through ongoing training, coaching, and hands-on experience, this individual will build strong knowledge of Incident IQ’s platform, K-12 district operations, and effective account-management practices.

 

Day-to-day activities will include preparing for customer meetings, conducting account research, supporting customer communications, tracking sales activities, maintaining accurate account information, and managing expansion opportunities within an assigned customer segment. The ideal candidate is organized, curious, relationship-oriented, and motivated to grow into a full Account Manager role.




Associate Account Manager Responsibilities: 

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers within an assigned account portfolio
  • Identify and develop upsell and cross-sell opportunities with coaching and support from sales leadership
  • Work toward assigned customer-expansion and recurring-revenue targets
  • Conduct account research and prepare materials for customer meetings, presentations, and outreach
  • Partner closely with Customer Success Managers to understand customer goals, product usage, satisfaction, and potential needs
  • Develop a strong understanding of Incident IQ’s products, customer outcomes, and value drivers
  • Educate customers on relevant Incident IQ capabilities and communicate customer success stories and best practices
  • Conduct discovery conversations to better understand customer challenges and organizational priorities
  • Support and participate in product demonstrations, proposals, and expansion conversations
  • Coordinate follow-up activities and customer communications throughout the expansion process
  • Maintain accurate and timely account, opportunity, and activity information in Salesforce
  • Track account activity, pipeline progression, and sales results
  • Provide regular updates regarding assigned accounts, opportunities, and forecasts
  • Collaborate with Account Management, Customer Success, Product, and other internal teams to support customer expansion, satisfaction, and retention
  • Participate in ongoing sales, product, and industry training
  • Use available technology and internal resources to improve organization, productivity, and customer engagement
  • Generate reports and complete other account-related projects as needed

 

Associate Account Manager Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Up to two years of experience in sales, account management, customer success, business development, or another customer-facing role
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships and communicate professionally with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Interest in developing presentation, discovery, negotiation, and consultative-selling skills
  • Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a process-driven environment
  • Self-motivated, coachable, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to learn technology products and explain their value in a clear, customer-friendly manner
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce or a similar CRM is preferred
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Experience in SaaS, education technology, K-12, or customer-facing sales is preferred but not required
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
