Job Description
Duties and responsabilities:
- Undertake and lead assignments in Australia and overseas
- Undertake structural design and analysis using design software across a broad range of structural types and using various international standards
- Deliver engineering solutions and reporting results to managers and clients
- Assist in the management of the design process that may include other related design disciplines/teams
- Assist with coordinating design as part of an internal team and liaising with external associated professionals and our clients
- Support the development and maintenance of a high level of technical capability to deliver the service offerings targeted
- Monitor staff time and budgets against assignment programme and agree appropriate actions where necessary
- Adopt procedures for standardisation and peer review to ensure consistency and excellence in the service delivery of the Company’s technical work product
- Implement and adhere to Company procedures and best practice in the management, delivery and administration of Services
- Uphold the Company Health & Safety and Environment Policies across all activities
- Undertake other reasonable duties as requested
Qualifications
- A degree qualified Civil Engineer.
- Experience of hands-on structural engineering design and analysis.
- Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles, including finite element analysis, advanced numerical modelling, structural design, construction engineering, and data interpretation.
- Experience delivering structural analysis, finite element modelling, and design verification for major transport infrastructure projects, including bridges, tunnelling works, retaining structures, and temporary works.
- Experience developing and reviewing analytical models to assess structural stability, strength, and serviceability of reinforced concrete, steel, precast, and geotechnical structures.
- Experience undertaking independent technical reviews and design checks for complex infrastructure assets and construction support systems.
- Contributed to design optimisation and value engineering initiatives, improving constructability and efficient use of materials.
- Experience reviewing engineering calculations, reinforcement detailing, bar bending schedules, and construction drawings to ensure technical quality and compliance.
- Working knowledge of Australian Standards and other relevant national and international design standards, contracts, and methodologies.
- Experience using structural analysis software and designing structural elements in steel, concrete, and composite materials.
- Experience on large-scale, high-profile infrastructure projects (c. AUD $200m+).
- Experience in the design and construction engineering of rail projects.
- Project management experience on major infrastructure, industry, or energy projects.
