Job Description

About Invisix

Semiconductor manufacturers can't build what they can't measure. Invisix Measuring Systems is a fast-growing scale-up in the high-tech industry, developing next-generation metrology solutions for the semiconductor sector. We work at the intersection of optics, software, and data.

We're a small team, but the depth of knowledge inside Invisix is anything but small. Our culture is professional and fast-paced, with short communication lines and a strong sense of shared purpose. Everyone here is committed, and everyone knows their work directly contributes to something bigger.

The Role

We're looking for a Buyer to keep the flow of parts, modules and services into Invisix going: purchasing, supplier management, sourcing and setting up our purchasing processes amongst others.

Your main objective is operational: making sure our engineers, integrators and project leads get what they need, when they need it, from prototype quantities to series production. Alongside that, you'll build a strong supplier base, working with the integrators that supply our modules and subsystems as well as with component suppliers. And because our purchasing function is still taking shape, you'll help define how it works and grow it with the company.

Key Responsibilities

Operational: keep the flow going

•     Place and manage purchase orders for the technology items, components, materials and services we buy directly, from prototype quantities to series production

•     Monitor delivery performance, expedite where needed and solve shortages before they reach production or the test setups

•     Work closely with our engineers, integrators and project leads to translate demand into a reliable supply plan

•     Set up and maintain supplier and item data, and help us choose and set up the right tooling

•     Handle non-conformances, returns and quality issues together with suppliers and our quality team

Tactical: build a strong supplier base

•     Manage our integrators of qualified modules and subsystems: agree on scope, specifications, qualification and change control, and monitor their delivery, quality and their own supply chain

•     Source and qualify new suppliers for technology items, including custom and high-tech parts such as electronics, optics or mechatronic components

•     Request and compare quotations, judge them on technical fit, cost, lead time and risk, and advise engineering early on what to buy as a module and what to buy as parts

•     Negotiate prices, terms, lead times and framework and supply agreements with integrators and component suppliers, and secure good conditions such as consignment stock or safety stock where it matters

•     Identify supply risks, such as single sources, long lead times and obsolescence, and set up mitigations

Shape the function

•     Define how purchasing works: processes, policies, approval flows and KPIs

•     Build the tools and reporting that give the team insight into spend, supplier performance and risk

•     Grow the role with the company, and help shape the team as it expands

Is this you?

•     At least 3 years of experience in purchasing, sourcing or supply chain in a technical or manufacturing environment, ideally covering both module or system suppliers and component-level buying

•     Knowledge of high-tech supply chains, such as precision mechanics, electronics, optics or semiconductor equipment

•     You're a doer: you like solving today's supply problem as much as designing tomorrow's process

•     You're a firm but fair negotiator who builds long-term supplier relationships

•     Active use of AI tooling in your daily work (spend analysis, quotation comparison, supplier communication, reporting) to boost efficiency

Nice to have

•     Experience setting up purchasing processes or ERP tooling in a growing company

•     Experience in the semiconductor equipment industry

What We Offer

•     A role at the heart of Invisix's supply chain, with real ownership from day one

•     Competitive salary and benefits, including an Employee Share Ownership Plan

•     A learning and development budget to support your growth

•     Flexible working arrangements, and room to grow into adjacent responsibilities as the team scales

If this sounds like your kind of challenge, we'd like to hear from you, even if you only recognize yourself in part of this description. Submit your resume, and let's find out together if there's a match.

We're committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace, where ideas and individuals flourish.
