Fluids Superintendent

The Fluids Superintendent leads drilling fluids, cementing and waste management activities, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant operations. The role oversees technical planning, service providers, logistics, quality, costs, lessons learned and well close-out.

Job Description

• Coordinate drilling fluids, cementing and waste management operations and service providers.
• Prepare and follow up Fluids and Cement Programs in line with well design and operational requirements.
• Provide technical support to the Drilling Superintendent, Drilling Engineers and offshore Fluids Supervisors.
• Ensure proper planning and logistics of chemicals, bulk materials, WBCO and equipment.
• Ensure quality control of drilling fluids and cement formulations.
• Manage and monitor fluids, cementing and waste management service companies.
• Validate service-company proformas and monitor service quality, performance and costs.
• Liaise with Head Office on fluids-related technical matters, particularly for sensitive wells.
• Manage, motivate, evaluate and develop offshore Fluids Supervisors.
• Prepare lessons learned, REX and support well close-out reports.
• Ensure compliance with TotalEnergies QHSE standards, local regulations and ESIA requirements.
• Support cost, time and operational performance optimization.

Qualifications

• Engineering or technical qualification; Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in drilling fluids and cementing.
• Proven deepwater drilling experience.
• Water-Based Mud (WBM) experience is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of drilling fluids, cementing, logistics and waste management.
• Experience managing drilling fluids, cementing and waste management service companies.
• Good knowledge of TotalEnergies referential, processes and methods.
• Strong HSE/QHSE awareness and knowledge of applicable standards and regulations.
• Proven leadership and team-management skills.
• Fluent English and ability to work effectively in an international, offshore/rotational environment.

Additional Information

Location: Suriname, with offshore assignments as required
Rotation: 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off
Working Schedule: 7 days per week, 8 hours per day
Contract Duration: Minimum 2 years
