Job Description
Veterinary Practitioner – Small Animal   Raheny Veterinary Hospital, Co. Dublin Full-time or Part-time | Permanent Salary up to €70,000 DOE     A Role Where You Can Truly Enjoy Practice Again If you’re looking for a role where you can focus on delivering high-quality clinical care, work with a genuinely supportive team, and enjoy a varied caseload without out-of-hours demands - this could be the perfect fit. Raheny Veterinary Hospital is a long-established, community-focused practice with a strong reputation, now entering an exciting new phase with a full refurbishment of our facilities. This is a great opportunity to join a practice that blends clinical standards, continuity of care, and a positive working environment.     The Role This position offers a balanced mix of consulting, surgery, and case management within a busy first opinion clinic. You’ll work across a varied caseload, with time and support to thoroughly work up cases and deliver excellent patient outcomes. Your week will include a combination of consultation and surgical days, with shifts typically scheduled between 9:00am and 8:00pm. Protected time is built into the diary for admin, case follow-ups, and clinical discussions, allowing you to manage your workload effectively. There is no out-of-hours or on-call requirement, and weekend work is shared fairly across the team.     Clinical Environment & Facilities We are a well-equipped and progressive practice, currently undergoing a full renovation to further enhance both our clinical capabilities and working environment. Our facilities include diagnostic imaging, ultrasound, dental X-ray, endoscopy, and a full IDEXX in-house laboratory. With dedicated surgical and dental suites and separate wards, we’re set up to deliver a high standard of care across both routine and more complex cases. We actively encourage thorough case work-ups, continuity of care, and the development of individual clinical interests, particularly in surgery and diagnostics.     Team & Culture What truly sets Raheny apart is our team. We are friendly, collaborative, and supportive, with a strong emphasis on communication and teamwork. You’ll be joining a team that values high clinical standards while also recognising the importance of a positive and sustainable working environment - where people support each other and enjoy coming to work.     Who We’re Looking For We’re seeking a VCI registered veterinary surgeon who is confident managing a varied caseload and enjoys both medical and surgical work. You’ll be a strong communicator, a team player, and someone who thrives in a collaborative setting. An interest in surgery or a particular clinical area would be a bonus, but most importantly, you’ll bring a positive attitude and commitment to excellent patient and client care. Please note: this role is not suitable for new graduates or those requiring close day-to-day mentorship.     Flexibility That Works for You We are ideally looking for a full-time vet working a 4-day week, but we are open to discussing part-time or flexible options for the right candidate. We aim to accommodate individual preferences where possible, balanced with the needs of the clinic.     Comprehensive Benefits Package (subject to pro-rata) We believe in investing in our people. In addition to a competitive salary and a long-term, stable role, you’ll benefit from: Work Life Balance & Employee Wellbeing * 22 days annual leave * Additional holiday entitlement for your birthday * Paid maternity, paternity, and adoptive leave packages * Cycle to Work Scheme * Company Sick Pay & Bereavement Leave * Access to EAP & Wellbeing Centre Career Development * €1300 annual CPD allowance with 40 hours paid CPD leave * Full funding for any Certificates / Diplomas / PhD’s you may want to pursue * Opportunities for clinical and leadership progression * VCI and VDS memberships fully covered * Dedicated CARE fund - €1,100 annually to support exceptional cases Additional Benefits * Annual Pay Reviews * Employer Pension Contributions * Discounted Veterinary Fees across the IVC Evidensia network * Free Flu Vaccinations * Access to “Pawesome” Benefits – retail and lifestyle discount platform * Opportunity to join company programmes (LGBTQ+, Wellbeing Champions, Nurses Committee, Clinical Board and many more)     Join a Practice That Invests in You At Raheny Veterinary Hospital, you’ll be part of a team that genuinely cares — about patients, clients, and each other.
