Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Specialty Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Apex / IVX Health. The ideal candidate will have experience working with specialty medications and a strong understanding of pharmacy procedures.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Pharmacy Technician works as a liaison between patients and healthcare organizations, with the primary role of ensuring patient safety while providing excellent patient service. This individual fields calls from patients, providers, and third-party payers, and helps to answer questions by listening, educating, and problem solving.
Hours: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm EDT (some 8:30am-5:00pm rotation may be needed)
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures that patient’s pharmacy needs are fulfilled in a timely, accurate and service oriented manner.
- Verifies insurance information and obtains necessary preauthorization
- Maintains pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed medications and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt; removing outdated drugs
