Senior Developer - Platform (Developer Operations)

About The Role

Hi, I'm James, and I help lead the Infrastructure & Enablement group at Jane. Platform Engineering and Developer Experience are career passions of mine, and both are areas critical to our group here. One of the many reasons I joined Jane was to help developers here spend more time helping our helpers and less time worrying about day-to-day development.

Jane's product development org grew from 250 to almost 500 staff in about two and a half years. Roughly 350 of us ship software every day leveraging GitHub, Jira, AWS, and more. We've rapidly outgrown the side-of-desk administration of these platforms that are key to our software and product delivery lifecycle. Helping shape the developer experience through settings, security, governance, and implementation in these tools is what the Developer Operations team is all about.

That's the job. You'd be a foundational builder as part of a new Developer Operations team, and the first dragon to wrangle is GitHub. GitHub is your platform to own end to end: help drive a more mature baseline, automate it, roll it out, and support the teams already using it.
