EMI/EMC/Lightning Engineer

Outline of the Job

eVTOLs (electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft) flying at a fixed altitude of around 300 meters carry a risk of lightning strikes, making lightning protection a critical element in their development. As a Lightning Engineer, you will be involved in the development, design, and evaluation of lightning protection for both the aircraft and its onboard equipment.

In this position, you will collaborate with experts across a wide range of technical fields—including flight control, battery management, power electronics, structures, aerodynamics, and certification—while contributing to a groundbreaking project to create urban air mobility solutions that will lead the future of transportation.

• Develop and implement lightning protection design for eVTOL aircraft and onboard equipment.

• Defines and implements EMI/EMC requirements to meet specified product performance for all aspects of Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) compliance, including but not limited to EMI/ EMC/ EME/ ESD/ EMP and Lightning.

• Perform zoning studies, identify potential lightning attachment points and current paths, and define appropriate protection strategies
