Inventory Manager - Jumia (Full Time)

The Inventory Manager oversees stock levels and inventory health within the warehouse from initial reception through to customer dispatch or vendor return. Reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager, this role leads a team of Inventory Supervisors to enforce FIFO models, execute cycle counts, optimize space utilization, and maintain inventory accuracy to support seamless e-commerce fulfillment.
What you will be doing:
- Inventory & Cycle Count Ownership: Own end-to-end stock control and lead daily/monthly cycle counts, maintaining accurate records of all stock received, moved, and shipped out.
- Commercial Alignment & Aging Stock: Partner with commercial teams to address aging inventory through return-to-vendor (RTV) actions or promotional sales campaigns.
- Space Utilization & Process Mapping: Optimize warehouse storage capacity and map inventory processes against Jumia best practices, ensuring strict FIFO execution and safe item handling.
- Reporting & Compliance: Prepare detailed operational reports on stock levels, adjustments, and storage compliance while ensuring full system adherence.
- Team Leadership & Collaboration: Supervise and develop Inventory Supervisors while working cross-functionally with Inbound, Outbound, and Aftersales teams.
What we are looking for:
- Education & Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field. Project management certifications and basic finance knowledge are added advantages.
- Professional Experience: Minimum 4 years of warehouse management or FMCG experience, with deep knowledge of direct-to-consumer e-commerce fulfillment, inventory software, and forecasting.
- Language & Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and fluency in English, French, and/or Arabic (based on location).
- Core Competencies: Exceptional data analysis, organizational, and creative problem-solving skills with a focus on high detail and independent follow-through in fast-paced environments.
