The Medical team assumes responsibility for understanding the clinical aspects in depth to discover unique offerings and believes in the importance of shaping the brand-building process as early as possible: forming the scientific narrative, the language included in the label, and identifying where the brand plays in the buying process.

Job Description

The Medical Editor supports scientific accuracy, clarity, and regulatory compliance across healthcare communications for healthcare professional and patient audiences. The role reviews scientific content, data, references, and marketing materials while partnering with Medical Strategy, Creative, Project Management, and Client Services. The work focuses on editorial quality, efficient review cycles, version consistency, and preparing materials for client medical/legal/regulatory review.

What You’ll Do

  • Edit, proofread, and fact-check healthcare professional and patient-facing content for scientific accuracy, clarity, readability, and consistency using internal commenting software.
  • Verify claims, scientific data, citations, tables, and figures against primary literature, guidelines, and client-approved reference packages while ensuring applicable regulatory requirements are followed.
  • Partner with Medical Strategy, Creative, Project Management, and Client Services to support efficient medical/legal/regulatory review cycles across concurrent deliverables.
  • Prepare and submit review-ready materials, including annotated references, change logs, and supporting documentation, through client review systems such as Veeva Vault.
  • Maintain version control, editorial quality, style guides, terminology, core claims, and citation conventions as marketing assets progress through creative and build stages.

Qualifications

Required:

  • University degree in life sciences plus 1+ years of experience editing scientific information in professional deliverables.
  • Demonstrated line editing, copyediting, and proofreading experience across scientific, healthcare professional, or patient-facing content.
  • Experience building and quality-checking references and annotations to verify evidence-based scientific claims against source materials.
  • Experience supporting review workflows through documented change tracking, version control, and preparation of final deliverables.
  • Experience reviewing scientific data in tables and figures and correcting accuracy or consistency issues within and across materials.

Desired:

  • Comfort and enthusiasm for using AI as a regular part of how work gets done.
  • Working knowledge of promotional guidance such as EFPIA or ABPI and its application to healthcare communications.
  • Experience using document-control or review platforms such as Veeva Vault or SharePoint to support content review workflows.
  • Experience editing digital or omnichannel deliverables, including web, email/CRM, or social content, with readability and accessibility considerations.
  • Agency or in-house medical communications experience supporting multiple brands, indications, or concurrent project timelines.
