Job Description

CTO Commissioning Specialist is responsible to provide technical and on-site support for Installations, start-up, and commissioning activities of Configure to Order (CTO) cranes in North America, as well as performing crane commissioning’s and load testing. This position is required to provide hands-on assistance to crane installers and service branches during site activities, as well as ongoing training and support. The CTO Commissioning Specialist position reports to the regional CTO Management. This position will require extensive domestic travel, with possibility of some international travel.

 

Responsibilities

• Perform start-up and commissioning activities. Including field wiring and proper set-up of all required devices on Overhead Travelling Cranes. Complete all required documentation and submit as soon as commissioning has been completed. This will also include warranty & technical support in particularly advanced, challenging, or complex situations.
• Provide phone and onsite support to the service group, crane factories and subcontractor resources as required.
• Provide and assist with training activities to our installation subcontractors and service branches as requested with troubleshooting of various electrical, mechanical and installation topics.
• Work with the Project Management Team to coordination onsite activities with large projects during the installation and commissioning phases. This will also include daily updates, documentation, reports, site pictures and oversite of additional site resources and sub-contractors.
• Provide support to the warranty group with troubleshooting, technical questions/ issues and root cause analysis so a determination of the problem can be decided and assist with the resolution for the warranty events.
• Be trained and act as regional expert on new products and features.
• Travel up to 85%.
• Other Duties as required and/or assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

-A high school diploma with related industrial experience and certified electrician training

- diploma or degree in an electrical related field is an asset but not required.

-Must have prior experience with industrial electrical equipment.

-Must be highly self-motivated, ability to work with minimal supervision, computer competency and have excellent technical and troubleshooting skills.

-Ability to read electrical drawings, be well organized, have excellent interpersonal skills, and be capable of handling a busy workload with multiple tasks.

-Travel throughout Canada and the US is required.

-Must have a valid driver’s license with good record.

-Must be able to attain all required site safety certificates, access, and background checks.
