Staff Geologist/Environmental Scientist
LaBella is currently looking to hire an Staff Geologist/Environmental Scientist in the Birmingham, AL office of our Waste & Recycling division. LaBella has over 1,900 employees in over 35 offices throughout 13 states. Our Birmingham office provides focused, technical environmental consulting services with the resources of a larger-sized firm. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with an entrepreneurial spirit to join a dynamic team working on technically engaging, and impactful projects. The successful candidate will perform field work including groundwater, soil, and surface water sampling, submit samples to a laboratory for analysis, manage and evaluate field and lab data, supervise contractors and drillers, and support the preparation of reports. This individual will also support project managers on various projects. The ideal candidate will enjoy a mix of office and field time.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- B.S. degree in Geology or Environmental Science preferred
- 1-3 years of experience in a related environmental position
- 40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification preferred but not required
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
