Job Description
Move how we work. Make your career count
When it comes to shaping how one of the UK’s largest organisations works, traditional HR can only take us so far. We need data that leaves no room for guesswork. Technology that keeps people and processes connected. And strategy that’s born out of insight. Exactly what our People & Places teams do every single day.
And as a People Science Graduate, you’ll be at the centre of it all. You’ll bring your genuine curiosity and analytical rigour to improve our ways of working, ultimately delivering better workplaces, better decisions and better outcomes. Alongside developing strong analytical expertise, you'll build the confidence to work with and influence a diverse range of stakeholders, translating complex insights into clear, compelling recommendations that drive action.
Two years. Lasting impact
Throughout this two-year scheme, you’ll rotate across a range of areas within People & Places – from data and experimentation to product design, strategy and people partnering.
Expect to:
Work on meaningful projects right from day one
Build the practical skills to influence decisions and challenge thinking in evolving environments
Put your learning into practice through a hands-on approach across projects and rotations
Add a unique blend of skills to your arsenal – including analytics, design, systems, stakeholder engagement and strategy
What your work could look like
Decoding how organisations really work using data, insight and experimentation
Making powerful insights and recommendations the starting point of every decision
Navigating complex stakeholder environments where priorities, perspectives, and data don’t always align
Using product thinking, smart tech and AI to improve the everyday systems, tools and employee experiences
Scoping for the skills that are needed not just today, but also tomorrow
Being a trusted problem-solver that the leadership teams can always count on
Partnering with colleagues and stakeholders across the business to understand challenges, build relationships and co-create practical solutions.
Skills that go where you do
By the end of the programme, you’ll have developed skills that’ll stay relevant throughout your career. These include:
Using data to understand what’s really going on and make better decisions
The ability to solve problems creatively through experimentation
Understanding how systems, processes, and people connect to shape outcomes
Communicating clearly to influence decisions and bring others with you
Building trusted relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, adapting your approach to different audiences and priorities.
Opportunities that let you take the stage
Get seen by those who can help you go further:
Present your ideas and insights to leaders, influencing decisions and building credibility with top senior stakeholders across the organisation.
Collaborate closely with those who have been there, done that
Get visibility and exposure across the business
Explore all the paths in front of you before picking your specialisation
Take ownership early, contributing to work that has visible impact on teams and the wider organisation
Your future. Fully backed
By the end of the scheme, you’ll have:
A respected professional qualification
A deep understanding of how organisations really work on the inside
A unique blend of data capabilities, analytical skill, design know-how and expertise across systems and strategy – keeping you one step ahead everywhere you go
