Job Description

At Liaison, we’ve helped higher education institutions build better, more diverse classes for three decades. You may recognize us as the company behind the Centralized Application Service (CAS), Enrollment Marketing services and platform (EMP), SlideRoom, Time2Track, TargetX (CRM) and Othot.

Everything we do is focused on taking that proven success and expanding its scope and scale. Over 31,000 programs on more than 1,000 campuses see us as a forward-thinking partner integral to meeting their total enrollment goals — and we’re building the data- and mission-driven team that will reinforce our role for decades to come.

The Product Manager is responsible for defining and advancing product capabilities for the Othot platform, with a particular focus on AI, analytics, and data-driven solutions. This role translates customer needs, market opportunities, and complex technical capabilities into clear product requirements and experiences that deliver meaningful value to colleges and universities.

Working closely with Data Science, Engineering, UX, and client-facing teams, the Product Manager manages product priorities from discovery through development, launch, and adoption. This role also monitors product usage and performance, gathers customer and market insights, and supports the continued evolution of AI-powered capabilities across enrollment, retention, financial aid, and other higher education use cases.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the product roadmap for AI, analytics, and agentic capabilities, including AI-driven recommendations, conversational interfaces, workflow automation, and student- and institution-level insights.
  • Partner with Data Science, Engineering, and client-facing teams to translate predictive and prescriptive model outputs into usable, explainable product features.
  • Gather and analyze customer, market, and user insights to identify needs, validate opportunities, and inform product priorities.
  • Translate business, customer, and technical requirements into clear product specifications and development priorities.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI teams to define requirements and provide feedback throughout the design and development process.
  • Define product success metrics and monitor customer usage, adoption, and usability trends to inform ongoing improvements.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of processes for bringing AI-powered capabilities from concept through development, validation, and release.
  • Develop customer-facing documentation, release notes, training materials, demonstrations, and other resources to support successful product adoption.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally throughout the product development lifecycle to ensure alignment on priorities, requirements, timelines, and customer value.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of Product Management experience, preferably within a data-intensive, analytics-driven, or SaaS environment.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and launching software products or features that incorporate AI/ML capabilities, including AI-driven or agentic workflows.
  • Strong ability to translate complex or ambiguous AI/ML concepts into clear product requirements and compelling customer value propositions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting and demonstrating products to internal and external audiences.
  • Background in machine learning or predictive modeling strongly preferred, whether through prior data science/analytics experience, an ML-focused product role, or close partnership with Data Science or ML teams. Strong familiarity with modeling concepts and interpreting machine learning model outputs.
  • Higher education or EdTech experience, particularly in enrollment management, student retention, financial aid, or institutional research, preferred.
  • Experience with BI or analytics tools and using data to inform product decisions preferred.
  • Familiarity with Agile product development practices and tools such as Jira; experience with beta testing or customer co-design programs preferred.
