An enterprise client is seeking experienced researchers, academics, and technical professionals to support advanced research and evaluation projects in Astronomy & Astrophysics. Selected candidates will apply specialized domain expertise to complex scientific problems, evaluate AI-generated technical content, and provide expert-level reasoning and feedback.

Job Description

  • Work through and evaluate complex Astronomy & Astrophysics problems requiring advanced domain expertise
  • Develop domain-specific research, reasoning, and evaluation tasks
  • Evaluate AI-generated scientific and technical content for accuracy, quality, and scientific rigor
  • Review technical or academic responses and identify factual, mathematical, methodological, or conceptual inaccuracies
  • Provide clear, well-supported specialist-level reasoning and feedback
  • Apply advanced knowledge to assigned research and evaluation projects
  • Assess research outputs, models, computational work, datasets, or other technical materials where relevant

Qualifications

  • Deep specialization in a defined Astronomy & Astrophysics subfield, rather than broad general knowledge
  • Verifiable record of substantive research, technical, computational, observational, or professional work directly related to the specialization
  • Ability to independently work through or evaluate complex scientific problems at an advanced level
  • Strong written reasoning skills and ability to clearly explain technical judgments
  • Current or recent experience in academic research, technical practice, or specialized professional work
  • Verifiable academic affiliation, research appointment, or relevant academic background with a university ranked within the QS World University Rankings Top 100

Highly prefer candidates to have:

  • Expertise in areas such as Astronomy, Astrophysics, Cosmology, Theoretical or Observational Astrophysics, Stellar or Galactic Astrophysics, Computational Astrophysics, or Astrophysical Data Analysis
  • Peer-reviewed or first-author research demonstrating subject-matter expertise
  • Experience with astronomical observations, mathematical modelling, numerical simulations, computational methods, or astrophysical data analysis
  • Technical work products such as datasets, computational implementations, models, test reports, patents, or other substantive research outputs
  • Ability to demonstrate expertise in a clearly defined astrophysical problem area
