This role will be based in Sunnyvale, Mountain View, or San Francisco CA.

The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team. 

We are looking for a Director of NAMER Global Sales Compensation Operations and Business Solutions leader, responsible for the strategic management of sales incentive compensation.  This role will drive operational excellence, provide data-driven insights, ensure compliance and implement ongoing improvements to optimize compensation processes, all while supporting our go-to-market (GTM) strategy growth initiatives.  

As a key leadership role within our Global Sales Compensation organization, this role offers the unique opportunity to build and scale our sales compensation programs aligned with best practices and strategic business objectives.  

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing end to end operations and administration of incentive compensation in a fast paced, dynamic business environment.  This leader must be able to execute tactical objectives, possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and understand how to align operational decisions with overall GTM strategy and goals.   

This role will lead our North American Sales Compensation Operations and Business Solutions team. Collaboration with cross-functional leaders will be essential to ensure the communication of strategic best practices and to monitor program effectiveness.  

Responsibilities  

  • Manage the day-to-day execution of our North American sales compensation plans. 

  • Implement and maintain a structured approach for administering global sales incentive compensation programs to ensure consistency and operational rigor.  

  • Develop, coach and mentor high-performing individuals and teams to drive success and foster professional growth.  

  • Collaborate with cross functional leaders within global sales compensation, sales operations and finance to ensure accurate, on-time commission processing and payments.  

  • Identify business problems to resolve business challenges by collaborating with

  • internal stakeholders, making informed recommendations on a wide range of business issues.  

  • Facilitate clear communication between business and technical teams to ensure alignment between business objectives and technical solutions.  

  • Define priorities and establish roadmaps for initiatives, ensuring they align with organizational goals and objectives.  

  • Evaluate and improve compensation operations and administrative business processes to increase efficiency and program effectiveness.  

  • Drive operational and sales performance analytics, providing data-driven insights and actionable recommendations to senior leadership on a monthly and quarterly basis.  

  • Address and resolve issues related to incentive compensation, such as calculation discrepancies, sales participant disputes, or system errors, delivering timely support and solutions.  

  • Collaborate on the creation and delivery of communication and training materials for sales compensation participants, leaders, and other stakeholders.  

  • Ensure that all incentive compensation practices comply with internal policies and external regulations.  

 

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:   

  • 12+ years of Sales Compensation, Sales Operations or Finance 

  • 10+ years of Sales Compensation operations or administration, plan design, ICM implementation or business process management  

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  

  • Possess a growth mindset and acts as a change agent to drive improvements across the compensation ecosystem.  

  • Ability to strongly collaborate and positively influence cross-functional leaders and stakeholders who are part of the incentive compensation management process, including sales leadership, finance, operations, systems, human resources, and legal.

  • Possess strong people and interpersonal skills, with the ability to assertively support a dynamic sales organization.   

  • Experience with technical consulting, solutions management, engagement management, business process management (BPM) and product management.  

  • Demonstrated experience with change management in a fast-paced, technology-centric organization.   

  • Self-starter / "get things done” mentality with the ability to lean in and partner with all business levels to make decisions and deliver solutions and desired outcomes.  

  • Proven project management skills and in-depth knowledge of sales compensation mechanics, operations, procedures, and processes.  

  • Robust planning and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deliverables to tight timelines.  

  • Ability to logically and efficiently structure solutions to ambiguous problems, conduct impact analysis, identify key insights, and recommend an action plan.   

  • Ability to lean in and partner with all business levels to make decisions and deliver solutions that meet desired outcomes.  

  • Ability to align business challenges to sources of data and develop required analysis, key insights and recommend actions.  

  • Advanced analytical and modeling skills with the ability to interpret and analyze data to present concisely to senior sales management.   

  • Must be hard working, responsive, and communicative with a strong attention to detail.  

  • Willingness and inclination to mentor and help others grow.   

  • Experience working across offices and regions on global projects.  

  • Familiarity with the sales cycle and CRM experience: SFDC, Dynamics, Anaplan etc.  

  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Power BI, Power Automate, Visio, Project, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CoPilot, Viva).

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is $173,000 to $279,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
