Director of Retention
Live it Up is a fast-growing health and wellness company rewriting the script on healthy living. We see health holistically, more than just the absence of illness. It's about vibrant bodies and minds. Our mission is to give nutrition its color back and make a healthy lifestyle everyone can lead. Our secret? Natural supplement powders crafted from real superfoods, built into simple rituals that fit into any day. What started with Super Greens has grown into a four-product portfolio that includes Hydration, Feel the Beet, and Golden Hour. With new flavors gaining traction, a Hydration 2.0 launch on the horizon, and more new products planned through 2027, we're entering our next chapter of growth, powered by a loyal customer base that keeps coming back.
Live it Up is looking for a Director of Retention to own the health of our subscriber base: finding where customers leak, understanding why, and building the strategy to keep them. If you're equal parts strategist, analyst, and customer-obsessed operator with a sharp instinct for what makes a habit stick and a relentless drive to grow LTV, this is the role for you.
What You'll Do:
Own the Health of Our Subscriber Base: Look at the subscriber base holistically, pinpoint where and why customers leak, and put forward the ideas, tests, and programs to stop it
Speak Fluent Marketing Math: Own cohort analysis, LTV modeling, and retention reporting, and turn the numbers into clear recommendations that inform day-to-day decisions and long-term strategy
Drive Subscription Retention: Architect and optimize the subscription experience, including onboarding, post-purchase, replenishment, cancellation, save, and win-back moments, using email, SMS, and every other touchpoint as vehicles to connect the dots
Turn Product into Retention Fuel: Partner with our product team to translate formula improvements, new launches, and flavor drops into business strategies that keep customers engaged
Build a Loyalty Program Worth Talking About: Design and launch a loyalty and referral program that turns daily wellness into a ritual customers don't want to break
Unlock Cross-Sell Across the Portfolio: Develop retention strategies that turn our growing product lineup into a real retention moat
Work AI-Native: Use AI and automation as a core part of how you work, from analysis and reporting to personalization and execution, so your time goes to the strategy that moves the business
Set the Vision and Execute It: Own retention strategy at the highest level and roll up your sleeves to bring it to life. Help build out the retention team.
Who You Are:
You have 8+ years in retention, growth, analytics, or subscription strategy, with a track record of driving measurable gains in LTV, churn, and repeat rate
You've scaled a DTC brand, not just maintained one. You know what it takes to move the needle when the playbook isn't written yet
You pick up numbers quickly and are comfortable pulling and working with raw data yourself. Experience with tools like Klaviyo and Recharge is a plus.
You lead with data. Cohort analysis, LTV modeling, and A/B testing are second nature, and you have extensive experience building cohort reporting that drives decisions
You're AI-native. You look for ways to use tools that are smarter than you to work faster, automate the manual, and find insights others miss
You think like a business owner, not just a marketer. You connect retention to product, launch, and inventory decisions
You've managed a loyalty or referral program, have strong instincts for what makes customers come back, and know how to measure and test your way to the right answer
You partner seamlessly across acquisition, product, brand and creative, and tech and analytics to deliver a unified customer experience
You thrive in fast-paced environments and roll with the punches when plans shift. You get excited watching numbers move quickly.
You think in terms of rituals, relationships, and long-term value, not just open rates and clicks
Bonus Points If: You've scaled a subscription brand past $100M ARR, managed retention programs through a product reformulation or relaunch, launched new products to an existing subscriber base, or built retention strategies in a clinical-claim-sensitive category
We care more about impact than years of experience. If you have a track record of scaling DTC retention programs to the next level, we want to hear from you!
This role will be based out of our New York City office, where we observe a hybrid model!
