Biomedical Engineering Technician III - FT - Days - Doctors Comm Med Ctr

Position Objective:

Performs preventive and corrective maintenance procedures on diagnostic, laboratory, and therapeutic medical equipment throughout the medical center with minimal supervision.

1. Under minimal supervision, repairs, calibrates, conducts preventive maintenance, cleans, and safety checks all classes of Biomedical Equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
2. Determines when systems should be removed from service and/or salvaged, is allowed to remain in service or must be restored to service according to manufacture and departmental specifications.
3. Maintains records of maintenance, inventory and safety inspection activities in accordance with departmental policies, including comprehensive evaluation and reports of equipment performance.
4. Selects and installs new clinical equipment as necessary. Purchase repair parts and accessories in accordance with departmental procedures.
5. Conducts and prepares for inspections.
