Medical Coordinator-Bariatric Surgery

Position Objective:

 Coordinates the medical care of Bariatric patients in a high volume multi-faceted bariatric surgical center which job duties include community outreach, clinical support, clerical support, financial coordination, contact management and database management.

1.  Coordinates the required activities of a high volume multi-faceted bariatric surgical center to ensure a smooth and efficient patient navigation process.
2. Participates in direct patient contact on a continuum.
3. Performs community outreach to include, but not limited to: Bariatric Informational Seminars, support groups, community events and educational events.
4. Provides patient education in regard to pre-surgical testing, insurance requirements, surgical pre- and post -operative instructions and overall program information.
5. Coordinates the bariatric surgical process from pre-operative to post-operative care and counseling.
6. Conducts surgical scheduling with patient, OR, Physician and insurance company.
