Balancer

Major Duties

Using Balance machine, set up and balance rollers to produce high quality rolls to standards and print specifications.

• Set up dynamic balancing machine and dynamically balance rolls.
• Static balance rolls on a static balancer.
• Calculate roll unbalance using balancing machine and make corrections by adding or removing weights.
• Clean roll inside before balancing:  Wash, when required.
• Read blueprints and use Webex shop balance procedures to ensure balancing is done to specifications.
• Perform visual inspection of rolls, record the amount of unbalance, when required, and complete inspection sheets.
• Stamp Webex identification data on the ends of the rollers, when required.
• Maintain a clean and safe working area.
• Ensure that all machined parts are properly protected.
• Perform material handling, as required.
• Perform daily equipment maintenance as required.
• Review blueprint to detect print errors related to work being performed.
