2027 - Winter Automation Engineer Intern, Gurugram
MongoDB is seeking a technically curious and motivated Automation Engineering Intern to join our Center of Automation team. You will have the opportunity to partner with our Business Systems team to help automate and integrate a portfolio of SaaS applications (NetSuite, Salesforce, Coupa, etc.) using a wide range of automation tools. This role is designed for students who want to build real-world software engineering experience, learn how to automate complex business processes, and contribute to meaningful initiatives while being mentored by experienced engineers.
What you’ll do
- Collaborate with business systems and stakeholders to learn how to deliver project solutions.
- Partner with engineers to brainstorm solution architecture and review proposed automation designs.
- Support system/user acceptance testing and provide assistance during deployment.
- Document business processes and contribute to technical documentation.
- Write clean, efficient code and learn to develop reusable scripts and workflows.
- Assist in diagnosing and triaging production issues, gaining experience in root cause analysis.
- Support the automation team in maintaining Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and tracking key performance metrics.
- Learn about MongoDB’s automation ecosystem and contribute to project improvements.
Who you are
- Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Foundational Knowledge: Exposure to or coursework in workflow-based logic, programming languages (Python, C#, or Java), and databases (SQL, XML, or JSON), as well as familiarity with low-code platforms (Workato, UiPath, Automation Anywhere, etc).
- Curiosity: A strong desire to learn RPA tools (like UiPath) and AI-driven automation (e.g., Langchain, vector databases).
- Communication: Effective written and verbal communication skills; comfortable explaining technical concepts to various audiences.
- Agile Mindset: Interest in or familiarity with Agile project delivery and a drive to solve problems through collaboration.
- Adaptability: A "better way" mentality—you enjoy identifying inefficiencies and proposing creative, constructive solutions.
- Commitment: Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) for the duration of the 10-week summer program.
Pre-Work
To ensure a smooth start, we ask you to complete the following learning modules before the internship begins:
- Required:
- UiPath Academy: Complete the "Automation Developer Associate" learning path.
- Programming Basics: Review the MongoDB Python Developer Path or your preferred language documentation to brush up on scripting fundamentals.
- SQL & Databases: Review basic SQL querying to understand how we interface with data.
- Nice-to-have:
- Version Control: Familiarize yourself with basic Git/GitHub workflows (branching, merging, pull requests).
- API Fundamentals: Review the basics of REST APIs and how they integrate with third-party applications.
Documentation: Review MongoDB’s Documentation Style Guidelines to align with our internal standards.
