Senior QA Engineer / Senior Software Test Engineer

We are seeking an organized, motivated, and passionate Senior QA Engineer / Senior Software Test Engineer to join our team of talented and inspiring developers in a fast-paced environment. 

As a Senior QA Engineer / Senior Software Test Engineer, you'll be a part of the SW Engineering Team and collaborate closely with the Product Managers. We're looking for a candidate who will design and scale robust automation frameworks, help drive the adoption of AI-assisted and agentic approaches in our testing processes, and perform hands-on testing. You will have the opportunity to shape test automation practices and drive AI adoption in testing. 

This fully remote position is based in Istanbul under a contractor agreement with Medsien Inc.

As a Senior QA Engineer / Senior Software Test Engineer, you will:

• Contribute to the end-to-end test strategy for our web applications, from planning through release,
• Design, build, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks using Selenium and Playwright (Java),
• Integrate and maintain automated test suites in Jenkins CI/CD pipelines with GitHub-based workflows,
• Leverage AI tools effectively across the testing lifecycle: test design, test data generation, code review, and defect analysis, 
• Explore and apply agentic architectures (AI agents, multi-agent workflows) to automate and accelerate QA activities,
• Perform functional, regression, API, and exploratory testing,
• Track quality metrics and contribute to release readiness assessments,
• Participate in test code reviews,
• Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and designers to embed quality throughout the development lifecycle,
• Continuously improve testing processes and advocate for quality best practices. 
• Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, contributing to sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives,
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with a proactive and analytical mindset,
• Research new technologies and prototype new ideas,
• Ensure high testability and quality of delivered software,
• Collaborate with Engineering and external third-party integrators on production and development to ensure good functional test coverage and reproducible results,
• Know the product vision and work closely with designers and the product owner to translate their vision into tests,
• Partner with development teams to identify key risk areas in new solutions.

Please apply if you have:

• 8+ years of experience in software testing, with at least 5 years in test automation,
• Strong hands-on experience with Selenium and Playwright,
• Solid programming skills in Java; clean, maintainable test code,
• Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipeline with Jenkins,
• Proficiency with Git and GitHub (branching strategies, pull requests, code reviews, GitHub actions),
• Hands-on experience using AI tools (e.g., LLM-based assistants, AI coding agents) to improve testing efficiency and quality,
• Familiarity with agentic systems and AI-driven automation concepts,
• Experience with API testing (Postman, REST Assured),
• Experience with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail),
• ISTQB Foundation Level certification, 
• strong analytical and problem-solving skills,
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodologies,
• A creative and driven mindset and a detail-oriented approach with experience navigating through ambiguity and a desire to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment,
• A desire to learn and try new approaches/ ideas and stretch boundaries,
• Superb communication skills,
• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, or a related field of study,
• Perfect English skills; both written and oral,
• Accommodation in Istanbul.

The following qualifications are a strong plus.

• Mobile test automation experience (Appium, iOS / Android),
• Familiarity with Docker and containerized test environments,
• Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, k6),
• ISTQB Advanced Level or CT-AI certification.
