Siemens Digital Industries Software | Mendix

Intelligence Center X: Turning AI ambition into business value

Companies across industries are investing heavily in AI, automation, and digital transformation, but many struggle to turn these investments into real business results.

Intelligence Center X (ICX) brings together the Mendix low-code platform with Siemens' Graph Studio and AI Studio software to help organizations connect data, AI, applications, and workflows. By bringing people and AI agents together, ICX helps enterprises build intelligent applications, automate processes, and turn AI ambitions into tangible business value.

As part of Siemens Digital Industries Software, Mendix combines the agility of a leading low-code platform with the scale, expertise, and resources of a global technology leader.

We are growing our EMEA Business Development team and looking for ambitious, curious, and driven individuals to help us expand across the UK & Ireland.

Are you curious about technology, enjoy connecting with people, and want to build a successful career in enterprise sales?

Join us to help leading organizations explore how AI, automation, and low-code can transform the way they work. You'll receive coaching, develop valuable sales skills, and take ownership of creating new business opportunities from day one.

Your role: Creating opportunities for innovation

As a Business Development Representative (BDR), you will play a key role in growing our business across the UK & Ireland by identifying, engaging, and qualifying potential customers for Mendix and Intelligence Center X.

You will be one of the first points of contact for potential customers, combining inbound lead qualification with proactive outbound prospecting. You'll work closely with Account Executives, Marketing, and industry experts to identify business challenges and create qualified sales opportunities.

You'll learn how organizations approach AI adoption, application development, automation, and digital transformation. Your goal is to connect with the right people, ask thoughtful questions, understand their priorities, and identify opportunities where our technology can make a difference.

This is a hands-on opportunity to build your enterprise sales career in an international, collaborative, and ambitious team. You'll receive coaching, learn from experienced colleagues, and develop the confidence and skills to succeed in a commercial role.

What you will do:

  • Drive outbound prospecting and qualify leads: Proactively connect with potential customers through cold calling, personalized emails, LinkedIn, and other channels, while following up on inbound interest. Turn conversations into qualified sales opportunities.

  • Research and target accounts: Identify potential customers, research their business priorities, and develop personalized approaches to engage the right stakeholders.

  • Explore business challenges: Engage prospects in meaningful conversations about AI adoption, fragmented data, disconnected workflows, application development, governance, and operational efficiency.

  • Engage enterprise stakeholders: Identify and connect with decision-makers and influencers, including CIOs, CTOs, Chief Data Officers, IT leaders, digital transformation leaders, and business stakeholders.

  • Connect challenges to value: Develop an understanding of how Mendix and Intelligence Center X combine low-code application development, data capabilities, and AI-driven automation to address enterprise challenges.

  • Create qualified sales opportunities: Uncover business needs, understand customer priorities, assess potential fit, and arrange meaningful discovery meetings with Account Executives.

  • Collaborate across teams: Work closely with Marketing, Account Executives, and industry experts to coordinate campaigns, share insights, and develop new opportunities.

  • Represent Siemens and Mendix: Participate in industry events and other activities that help build relationships and generate demand.

  • Travel and connect: Occasionally travel within the UK & Ireland and to other European countries for customer visits, team gatherings, internal and external events, marketing activities, and industry conferences.

  • Develop your sales expertise: Build your skills in prospecting, objection handling, discovery, qualification, and enterprise sales. Learn how to navigate complex sales cycles and continuously improve through coaching and feedback.

  • Own your results: Work towards clear activity and opportunity-generation goals, track your progress, and continuously improve your approach through coaching, feedback, and collaboration with your team.

  • The innovator we need:

You don't need to be a technology expert or have previous software sales experience to succeed here.

We're looking for someone who enjoys connecting with people, is curious about business and technology, and has the drive to build a career in sales.

    You will bring:

  • Previous experience in sales, business development, customer-facing roles, or a relevant educational background is a plus, but not essential. We value potential, motivation, and willingness to learn.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Additional languages are a plus.

  • Strong communication and listening skills, with the curiosity to ask thoughtful questions and understand what matters to customers.

  • A genuine interest in AI, data, automation, low-code technology, and digital transformation.

  • The confidence, or willingness to develop the confidence, to approach new people and engage professionals at different seniority levels.

  • A proactive, goal-oriented mindset and the motivation to take ownership of your results.

  • Resilience and persistence. You are comfortable with challenges, can handle rejection, and are motivated to learn from feedback and keep improving.

  • A collaborative attitude and the ability to work effectively with colleagues across different teams, cultures, and regions.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally for business-related activities, particularly within the UK & Ireland and across Europe.

  • Similar Openings in Sales & Growth
