We’re seeking an experienced Python Software Engineer to join our team on a contract basis, working with a London-based asset management firm. This is a hands-on engineering role combining Python development with data analysis and data quality. You’ll work with data-intensive systems and pipelines, helping ensure that data is accurate, reliable and efficiently processed across the platform.
You Will Be:

Developing and maintaining Python-based applications and data processing solutions

Working with complex datasets using Python, NumPy and pandas

Analysing data across pipelines and identifying and resolving data quality issues

Investigating data inconsistencies, anomalies and issues across different stages of data processing
-
Working with PostgreSQL databases and data-driven applications
-
Improving existing data pipelines, processes and engineering solutions

Troubleshooting application and data-related issues

Collaborating with engineering teams and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver reliable solutions
You Will Need:

At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience, with strong hands-on Python development skills

Strong experience with Python, including NumPy and pandas

Strong data analytics skills, particularly in identifying and resolving data quality issues across pipelines

Experience working with data pipelines and data processing

Practical experience with PostgreSQL

Experience using AI coding tools or coding agents as part of the software development workflow

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Good understanding of software engineering principles and development practices

Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and business stakeholders
