People Associate

This is a full-time, salary, non-exempt position with a competitive benefits package and performance-based bonus potential. This role works out of our Fairfield, CT office and supports a positive, well-organized employee experience through day-to-day People operations and administrative support.
What You’ll Do:
The People Associate supports the day-to-day administration of Moneco’s People function and helps deliver an organized, responsive, and positive experience throughout the employee lifecycle.
This role is responsible for coordinating recruiting and onboarding activities, maintaining accurate employee information, supporting payroll and benefits administration, and assisting with performance, development, and employee experience programs. The People Associate will report to the Director of People and work closely with cross-functional partners while developing foundational knowledge across core human resources disciplines.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working with technology, and able to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Recruiting and Hiring Support
- Coordinate interview scheduling, candidate communications, and interview follow-up.
- Maintain accurate candidate information and hiring activity in Greenhouse.
- Post approved job openings and support job-board administration.
- Prepare interview materials and help ensure interviewers have the information needed for each stage of the process.
- Support background checks, reference checks, offer documentation, and other pre-employment activities.
- Provide candidates with a timely, professional, and consistent experience.
Onboarding and Offboarding
- Coordinate pre-employment and new-hire activities, including required documentation, orientation materials, system notifications, and internal communications.
- Partner with Operations, Technology, Compliance, and hiring managers to help ensure equipment, workspace, access, and required resources are ready for new employees.
- Maintain onboarding trackers and follow up on outstanding activities.
- Support new-hire orientation and employee check-in processes.
- Coordinate offboarding documentation, system notifications, exit materials, and related administrative activities.
People Operations and Employee Records
- Maintain accurate employee records, HRIS information, organizational trackers, templates, and personnel documentation.
- Process routine employee changes and ensure information is communicated to the appropriate internal and external partners.
- Support payroll administration by gathering information, entering approved changes, reviewing reports, and identifying discrepancies for review.
- Assist with benefits enrollment, employee communications, documentation, and routine questions.
- Direct employee questions to the appropriate resources and escalate sensitive or complex matters to the Director of People.
- Help maintain organized and consistent People processes, procedures, and reference materials.
Performance and Employee Development
- Provide administrative support for performance reviews, goal-setting, feedback, and employee sign-off processes in PerformYard.
- Monitor deadlines, maintain completion trackers, and send routine reminders and communications.
- Coordinate training sessions, development resources, career-pathing activities, and manager or employee materials.
- Support mentorship, internship, and other employee development programs.
- Assist with maintaining guides, templates, and resources that help employees and managers use People systems and programs effectively.
Employee Experience and Culture
- Support employee engagement, recognition, wellness, volunteer, and culture-building initiatives.
- Assist with employee communications, surveys, events, and program logistics.
- Coordinate vendors, invitations, materials, attendance information, and follow-up for assigned employee programs and events.
- Help gather employee feedback and maintain participation or program data.
- Contribute ideas that improve the employee experience and reinforce Moneco’s values and culture.
Process, Systems, and Reporting
- Maintain accurate information within Greenhouse, Insperity, PerformYard, and other People systems.
- Prepare routine reports and track recruiting, onboarding, performance, engagement, and employee-lifecycle activity.
- Identify missing information, recurring issues, or opportunities to improve documentation and workflows.
- Create and update process guides, templates, checklists, and employee resources.
- Protect confidential employee and company information and follow established documentation and access practices.
What We’re Looking For:
- 2 years of experience in human resources, recruiting coordination, employee administration, office administration, or a related support role. Relevant internship experience may be considered.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, communications, psychology, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, follow through on commitments, and meet deadlines.
- Sound judgment and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
- Comfort learning and working in multiple technology platforms and maintaining accurate data.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
- Experience with an HRIS, applicant tracking system, payroll platform, or performance management system is helpful but not required.
