A Day in the Life:

In the position of Freight Bill Auditor, you will be responsible for auditing and reconciling international freight, customs, raw materials, finished goods, and premium transportation invoices to ensure accuracy, compliance, and proper payment processing. Review billing rates, currency conversions, contractual charges, and supporting documentation; identify and resolve discrepancies with vendors, freight forwarders, and customs brokers. Maintain audit records, supports Accounts Payable processing, and promotes adherence to internal controls, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and applicable import/export requirements.

The Impact You'll Make:

• Audit and reconcile international freight, customs, raw materials, finished goods, and transportation invoices to ensure billing accuracy and compliance with contractual agreements and approved rates.
• Identify, investigate, and document billing discrepancies, overcharges, duplicate invoices, currency conversion issues, and other exceptions requiring correction or resolution.
• Collect, review, and validate supporting documentation, including freight quotations, rate agreements, customs declarations, proof of delivery, and vendor invoices.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to resolve invoice discrepancies and obtain required documentation.
• Validate billing calculations, currency conversions, duty and tax charges, and General Ledger (GL) coding prior to submission for Accounts Payable processing.
• Prepare and process audit-approved invoices in accordance with established internal controls, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and payment timelines.
• Maintain organized audit files, invoice records, and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with internal audit requirements and external audit requests.
• Update and maintain invoice tracking systems, audit logs, and reporting tools to monitor invoice status, discrepancies, and workflow performance.
• Support Systems, Applications and Products in Data Processing (SAP) reviews, Maintenance Review Board Report (MRBR) activities, and monthly vendor statement reconciliations.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process enhancements, promoting adherence to audit procedures, and assisting with implementation of department standards.

Who You Are:

• Prefer a Bachelor's Degree in the field of Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business, or related field
• Additional Experience Desired: Between 1-3 years of experience in freight audit, transportation, logistics, or supply chain
  operations
• Additional Experience Desired: Between 1-3 years of experience in Accounts Payable, invoice processing, accounting, or
  financial reconciliation
• Computer Skills Desired: Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams. Experience with Systems,
• Applications and Products in Data Processing (SAP) or similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems preferred.
• Experience with freight audit, invoice management, transportation management, and reporting systems preferred.
• Additional Knowledge or Skills to be Successful in this role: Knowledge of international freight forwarding, customs
  processes, import/export documentation, transportation billing, Incoterms, and freight audit procedures. Ability to
  analyze billing discrepancies, reconcile vendor invoices, maintain audit records, and support compliance with internal
  controls. Experience with SAP, Customs Brokers, Freight Forwarders, and Accounts Payable processes preferred.
