CONTEXT

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, healthcare exclusion and natural disasters. MSF offers assistance to people based only on need and irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation. MSF International is the legal entity that binds MSF’s 24 sections, 28 associations and 19 branch offices together.

MSF International provides coordination, representation, information and support to the MSF movement and implements international projects and initiatives as requested. As a medical humanitarian organization, medical leadership is central to MSF’s social mission, enabling the organization to provide medical quality care to populations in need.

The International Medical Secretary (IMS) is the most senior executive medical leadership role in MSF International. The position sits at the intersection of medica
