- Own optical system simulation and analysis for free-space laser communication terminals, from concept to detailed design, using ZEMAX OpticStudio.
- Model and verify optical performance, including beam propagation, polarization behavior, optical losses and tolerance budgets.
- Plan and support optical verification in the lab: define test setups, perform measurements and correlate results with simulations.
- Define technical requirements for optical systems, sub-systems and components, and support procurement with review and release of optical drawings.
- Support qualification of optical components and prototype systems, partly under clean room conditions.
- Drive design trades with opto-mechanics, thermal, electronics and control teams to meet performance, size, cost and manufacturability targets.
- Optional: Optimize optical systems for stray and false light using FRED or ASAP.
What you bring with you
- Required experience: Minimum 6 years of hands-on professional experience in the field.
- University degree in Physics, Optics/Photonics, or a related discipline.
