Job Description

The position reports to the Nautical Senior Manager in the Mystic Cruises company structure, and will assist the DP in all compliance related matters.

• Assist in the implementation and monitoring of the SMS;
• Coordinate and assist in the implementation of all SMS related training;
• Assist and monitor MLC compliance;
• Collaborate and assist in the implementation of the Welfare Policy;
• Assist in the preparation of ship documentation;
• Assist in the preparation of external and internal audits documentation;
• Give assistance and support during audits or inspections;
• Assist in the preparation of SMS Meetings documentation and reports;
• Assist in the preparation of accident/incident reports;
• Collaborate and liaise with shoreside and shipboard departments;
• Assist in the preparation of New regulations or Requirements Memos;
• Assist in the preparation of documentation for SMS Review;
• Assist in documentation review.

Qualifications

• Maritime-related education, preferably:
  • Merchant Navy Officer;
  • Naval Engineering;
  • Maritime Management;
  • Maritime Safety or a related field.
• Knowledge of the ISM Code and the SMS (Safety Management System).
• Knowledge of MLC 2006 (Maritime Labour Convention).
• Knowledge of internal and external audits and inspection processes.
• Knowledge of maritime legislation and regulations, including the ability to monitor and follow up on new regulatory requirements.
• Experience or knowledge in the investigation and preparation of accident and incident reports.
• Ability to prepare and review operational and compliance documentation.
• Knowledge of safety management and emergency procedures would be considered an advantage.
• Fluency in English.
