Senior Manager, Salesforce Platform Strategy & Delivery
Founded in 2004, NetBrain is the leader in no-code network automation. Its ground-breaking Next-Gen platform provides IT operations teams with the ability to scale their hybrid multi-cloud connected networks by automating the processes associated with Diagnostic Troubleshooting, Outage Prevention and Protected Change Management. Today, over 2,500 of the world’s largest enterprises and managed services providers leverage NetBrain’s platform.
What We Need
NetBrain is seeking a hands-on Senior Manager of Salesforce Platform Strategy and Delivery to lead the operating model, roadmap, governance, and day-to-day delivery of its Salesforce platform. This is not a position for someone who intends to operate primarily through delegation. The director will work directly in the details of intake, triage, requirements, solution design, backlog management, QA, user acceptance testing, releases, deployments, documentation, and production support. The successful candidate will combine platform leadership with the willingness and technical ability to help the team execute.
Salesforce is central to NetBrain’s commercial and operational processes. The environment supports a mature and highly integrated business, with substantial demand from Sales, Customer Success, Support, Finance, Partners, and other business functions. The incoming director will bring structure to a significant backlog while balancing current business needs, platform reliability, technical-debt remediation, and major transformation initiatives.
The position will work closely with NetBrain’s existing Salesforce platform manager and developer, planned additional engineering capacity, business stakeholders, and external advisors. The director will be accountable for creating a sustainable Salesforce operating model and ensuring that the team works on the highest-value priorities in the appropriate sequence.
What You'll Do
Platform strategy and roadmap
- Own and maintain the Salesforce platform roadmap.
- Translate business strategy into sequenced platform initiatives, releases, and measurable outcomes.
- Balance capacity across business transformation, business-as-usual support, platform reliability, and technical-debt remediation.
- Incorporate relevant recommendations from platform assessments and external advisors.
- Present priority, capacity, dependency, and risk trade-offs to leadership.
- Ensure that urgent requests do not continuously displace strategically necessary work.
Intake, triage, and backlog management
- Own how Salesforce work enters, moves through, and leaves the team.
- Personally participate in request triage, requirements clarification, scope definition, and effort assessment.
- Distinguish incidents, minor enhancements, major projects, maintenance, and architectural remediation.
- Establish practical prioritization criteria based on business value, urgency, effort, risk, and dependencies.
- Maintain an actionable backlog with clear ownership, acceptance criteria, target releases, and status.
- Push back constructively when requests are incomplete, duplicative, unscalable, or lower priority.
- Prevent informal messages and executive requests from bypassing the agreed operating process.
Hands-on platform delivery
- Work directly with administrators, developers, and business stakeholders to move priority work forward.
- Assist with Salesforce configuration, Flow, troubleshooting, data analysis, security, permissions, and operational support as needed.
- Evaluate technical designs and identify downstream effects across automation, data, integrations, CPQ, and user experience.
- Review Apex and integration solutions sufficiently to assess maintainability, testing, security, and operational risk.
- Step into release preparation, deployment coordination, defect resolution, and production validation.
- Contribute directly when the team needs help rather than limiting the role to status reporting and delegation.
QA, UAT, releases, and deployments
- Establish a predictable release calendar and release-readiness process.
- Define acceptance criteria before development begins.
- Coordinate functional, technical, integration, regression, and business-user testing.
- Ensure that developers are not solely responsible for validating their own work.
- Manage UAT planning, stakeholder participation, defect resolution, and business signoff.
- Lead go/no-go decisions, deployment planning, rollback preparation, and post-release validation.
- Improve sandbox, environment, source-control, and deployment practices.
- Create visibility into work waiting for testing, approval, deployment, or remediation.
Architecture and technical governance
- Establish practical standards for when to use standard configuration, Flow, Apex, managed packages, middleware, or external services.
- Partner with technical team members to remediate legacy automation and reduce platform technical debt.
- Review integrations for scalability, supportability, security, data ownership, and business value.
- Participate in technology evaluations before new systems are selected or procured.
- Guide build-versus-buy decisions and evaluate the downstream effect of new platforms on Salesforce.
- Maintain appropriate internal ownership when external consultants or implementation partners are engaged.
CPQ and commercial transformation
- Support changes to products, pricing, approvals, quoting, contracting, renewals, and related sales workflows.
- Help govern the evaluation and potential implementation of a future CPQ or Revenue Cloud solution.
- Coordinate business requirements, architecture decisions, partner selection, testing, migration, and adoption.
- Ensure that CPQ transformation aligns with NetBrain’s broader SaaS commercial model and Salesforce roadmap.
Documentation and knowledge management
- Establish a shared, searchable, and maintainable source of truth for the Salesforce platform.
- Require current documentation for architecture, integrations, automation, releases, operating procedures, and key business logic.
- Create standards for technical design decisions, ownership, backup ownership, and knowledge transfer.
- Reduce dependency on information held by a single employee.
- Ensure documentation is incorporated into delivery rather than treated as optional follow-up work.
Team and stakeholder leadership
- Lead the day-to-day Salesforce operating model across functional and technical contributors.
- Clarify decision rights, responsibilities, handoffs, and escalation paths.
- Create productive partnership among Salesforce, Sales Operations, Customer Success, Support, Finance, Partners, IT, and leadership.
- Protect the team from uncontrolled demand while maintaining a responsive service orientation.
- Coach team members and create clear accountability without introducing unnecessary bureaucracy.
- Communicate platform performance, delivery progress, constraints, and risk to Chief Customer Officer and other leaders.
What You Bring
- Substantial experience leading and working hands-on within mature Salesforce environments.
- Demonstrated ownership of a Salesforce roadmap, backlog, release process, or platform operating model.
- Strong practical knowledge of Sales Cloud and Salesforce platform administration.
- Experience gathering requirements and translating business needs into scalable Salesforce solutions.
- Experience with intake, prioritization, QA, UAT, release management, and deployments.
- Ability to work across configuration, Flow, data, security, integrations, and technical design.
- Sufficient Apex literacy to review solutions, evaluate risk, and collaborate credibly with developers.
- Experience supporting complex integrations and cross-functional business processes.
- Demonstrated ability to challenge requests, resolve competing priorities, and communicate trade-offs to senior leaders.
- Strong documentation, process-design, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Willingness to remain hands-on while leading the team and platform.
- Manual Dexterity: Repetitive motion of wrists, hands and fingers for using a computer.
- Stationary Tasks: Sitting for extended periods, remaining in a stationary position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Salesforce CPQ, Revenue Cloud, or another complex quote-to-cash transformation.
- Experience supporting a SaaS or enterprise software company.
- Experience with Service Cloud, Data Cloud, Agentforce, AI-assisted workflows, or MCP-based integrations.
- Experience with Salesforce DevOps, source control, automated testing, and structured release pipelines.
- Experience remediating Workflow Rules, Process Builder, legacy Flow, or accumulated platform technical debt.
- Experience evaluating managed packages, integration tools, and implementation partners.
- Experience operating in a fast-changing, private-equity-backed, or post-investment environment.
- Relevant Salesforce certifications. Certifications are useful but will not substitute for demonstrated delivery and leadership.
