Help shape the products people will choose tomorrow - Intro to the Innovation team

Why do some new products take off while others don’t? What makes someone notice a new pack on the shelf, connect with an idea, or decide to try a product for the first time? At NIQ BASES, we help some of the world’s most exciting brands answer these questions.

As part of our Innovation Insights team, you’ll explore how consumers think and behave, work with data to uncover what really drives their choices, and turn those insights into recommendations that influence real business decisions.

You’ll get exposure to new product ideas, concepts, messaging, packaging and launch strategies, combining consumer research, analytics and commercial thinking to help clients make smarter innovation decisions.

Bring your curiosity, analytical thinking and collaborative spirit to a team that helps clients make confident innovation decisions.

About this job

As a Senior Research Analyst, you won’t just work with data. You’ll turn it into a story.

You’ll take ownership of research projects, collaborate with colleagues across analytics, forecasting, consulting and project delivery, and gradually build your confidence in working directly with clients.

Responsibilities

  • Turning data into insight: Analyse consumer research and market data to understand what’s happening, why it matters and what our clients should do next.
  • Bringing insights to life: Create clear, engaging reports, presentations and visual stories that make complex findings easy to understand.
  • Working on real innovation challenges: Explore new product concepts, packaging, messaging and launch potential for our clients.
  • Owning your projects: Manage your priorities and deadlines across several studies, working closely with different teams to deliver high-quality research.
  • Getting closer to clients: Join client conversations, respond to project questions and build confidence presenting findings and recommendations.
  • Connecting the dots: Combine consumer feedback, market context and forecasting insights to create a compelling story around the potential of an innovation.
  • Being curious: Look beyond the obvious results, ask the next question and identify additional insights that could make a difference to the client.
  • Helping others grow: Share your knowledge with junior analysts and support them in developing their analytical and research skills.
  • Exploring beyond your day-to-day: Get involved in special analyses, client training, thought leadership and other initiatives across the Innovation team.

A little bit about you

We’re looking for someone who is analytical and detail-oriented, but also curious, collaborative and excited about turning numbers into meaningful stories.

Qualifications

  • Around 2–3 years of experience in market research, consumer insights, analytics or a related area.
  • Experience analysing data and creating reports or presentations that explain not only what happened, but why it matters.
  • A university degree in Marketing, Economics, Business, Psychology, Data/Analytics or another relevant field.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills and an understanding of research methods and statistics.
  • Confidence working with Excel and PowerPoint, and an interest in learning new digital and analytical tools.
  • Strong communication and data storytelling skills.
  • Good organisation and the ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • A collaborative mindset and an interest in learning from others while sharing your own knowledge.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, as you’ll work in an international environment.
  • Knowledge of German, French or Spanish would be an additional asset, particularly when working with clients across European markets.

Knowledge of forecasting principles is a plus, but you don’t need to know everything on day one. We’re looking for someone who is curious, motivated to learn and ready to grow.
