About the Role

The Service Delivery Director leads Service Delivery, a central unit within Operations. The role owns customer delivery from contract signature to handover, owns the standard roll-out of monitoring, metering and connectivity systems, and is the single point of contact for the Product team and the Solution Architects on delivery.

The role requires strong leadership, project and commercial discipline, and a focus on standard processes and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities are:

  • Owns end-to-end customer delivery from contract signature to handover: onboarding, project management and delivery of the contracted service scope, and formal handover to the customer and to Customer Success.
  • Leads, develops and coordinates the regional Service Delivery Managers, who are accountable for delivering customer fit-outs on time and within budget.
  • Ensures every delivered service is handed over and billed on time, and reduces booked-but-not-billed capacity.
  • Owns the accuracy and completeness of customer delivery data in Salesforce, from contract to handover.
  • Coordinates and standardises the design and roll-out of monitoring and connectivity systems in the data halls (BMS, SLA sensors and power metering), and ensures they are embedded in and integrated with our DCIM layer.
  • Designs and ensures a standard roll-out of fibre, structured cabling and cross-connects across all our data centers.
  • Acts as the single point of contact for the Product team and the Solution Architects: streamlines the roll-out of new products and defines delivery standards.
  • Owns the customer fit-out price book, so that NRC estimates have a sound foundation, and tracks delivered cost against NRC.
  • Develops service delivery processes, standards and KPIs, and reports on delivery performance and customer feedback.
  • Works with Operations, Construction, Commercial, Procurement and Finance to ensure seamless execution and issue resolution.
  • Manages delivery risk and ensures compliance with company policies, safety rules (including the nLighten Safe-to-Work process), regulations and contractual obligations.
  • Drives continuous improvement in delivery quality, speed and cost.

Performance Metrics

  • Time from contract signature to billing start.
  • Customer fit-outs delivered on time and within budget.
  • Booked-but-not-billed capacity (MW).
  • NRC accuracy: delivered cost against the NRC estimate.
  • Salesforce data completeness at handover.
  • Monitoring coverage: share of sites with BMS, SLA sensors and power metering integrated into DCIM.
  • Customer satisfaction at handover.

What We’re Looking For

  • 8+ years in service or project delivery in data centers, colocation or critical infrastructure, including at least 3 years leading teams.
  • Proven management of customer deployments across multiple sites and countries.
  • Technical knowledge of power distribution and metering, BMS/DCIM, structured cabling and fibre.
  • Commercial acumen: cost estimation, price books and NRC/MRC models.
  • Strong data discipline; experience with Salesforce or a similar CRM.
  • Experience leading distributed teams, with strong stakeholder management at all levels.
  • Fluency in English is a must; a second European language is a strong plus.
