Job Description
Join an established turnkey collaborative family practice in Antigonish, working alongside 3 physicians, NPs, family practice nurses, social workers, and allied health to provide primary care to the community. Antigonish MediPlex offers supportive practice in a spacious and conveniently located clinic with opportunities for hospital work, ED, procedures, and teaching residents or medical learners.
The MediPlex is newly turnkey but has been in operations for many years and the administrative staff are incredibly experienced and efficient.
Patients may come from recently retired physician panels, the registry, or may be taken from the in-house primary care clinic for unattached patients.
Most patients will have been under provider care fairly recently.
Flexible full- and part-time opportunities. If you are wishing to practice with a colleague, the clinic has the capacity to welcome several providers.
The clinic is located downtown Antigonish, and only minutes from the Regional Hospital. Physicians enjoy collegial relationships with specialists and other family medicine providers. The clinic is newly updated inside but long-established in the community and with experienced staff who are accustomed to supporting new-to-practice and new-to-system providers.
Responsibilities
- provide comprehensive, full-scope primary health care to practice patients of all ages and stages of health and illness
- maintain timely and accurate patient records using a provincially approved electronic medical record (EMR)
- participate in quality improvement, practice evaluation, and other activities that support the delivery of safe, effective, patient-centered care
- attend regular physician and team meetings
- comply with the Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, policies, and professional standards of Nova Scotia Health
- partake in continuing medical education (CME) and professional development opportunities
- participate in teaching of medical learners
Expected Hours
- Full-time Equivalency or Part-time available
- 46/52 weeks per year for full-time, office-based providers
Remuneration
- Longitudinal Family Medicine (LFM) contract approximately [INSERT SALARY RANGE] CAD
- family physicians in Nova Scotia are compensated based on the LFM payment model or Fee for Service (FFS)

Qualifications
- all applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- all applicants must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
- membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)

Facility Information
The MediPlex has 11 exam rooms, large and bright waiting room, nurses' offices, and staff areas (kitchen/washroom) and a board room. There are currently 3 part-time physician providers there with NPs, FPN, LPN. It has ample, free parking, and is an NSH turnkey, collaborative clinic.
