This structured program is designed to develop high-potential talent into future Commercial Account Managers by building commercial acumen, customer relationship skills, business development expertise, and category knowledge.

Through rotational assignments, mentorship, and hands-on customer-facing experiences, you will gain diverse business exposure, deep organizational insight, and a comprehensive understanding of how O-I serves customers across the Beer, Spirits, Food, and Non-Alcoholic Beverage markets. Job Description:

Commercial Leadership Development Program Overview

The program's duration is approximately 24-30 months and is designed to prepare individuals for future Commercial Account Manager and business development roles. To maximize personal growth and professional exposure, participants will rotate through a variety of commercial functions across O-I's Americas North region while developing expertise within a specific customer category, including Beer, Spirits, Food, or Non-Alcoholic Beverages.

The program consists of six structured developmental rotations designed to provide broad commercial exposure and progressively greater responsibility. Throughout the program, participants will complete meaningful assignments, lead projects, and develop practical experience in customer engagement, sales operations, commercial strategy, and business development.

You will receive mentorship from program leaders, rotation managers, and commercial professionals across the organization. Regular development discussions and performance reviews will support your growth, address challenges, and prepare you for future commercial opportunities within O-I.

Program Guidelines:

You will be exposed to meaningful projects and development opportunities within several commercial functions. Rotations may occur in different sequences based on business needs and development opportunities.

Customer Success & Service:

Develop a foundational understanding of customer relationship management and post-sale support. Gain exposure to customer onboarding, order management, issue resolution, service delivery, and retention strategies while learning how operational execution impacts customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships.

Sales Operations & Analytics:

Support forecasting, contract compliance, account performance analysis, pipeline management, and sales execution processes. Learn how commercial commitments are translated into operational execution while improving forecasting accuracy and business decision-making.

Demand & Supply Balance:

Develop an understanding of how manufacturing capabilities, inventory management, and supply constraints influence customer commitments and commercial strategy. Support CRM management, reporting processes, workflow improvements, and cross-functional coordination.

Pricing & Segmentation:

Partner with pricing, finance, and commercial teams to understand pricing strategy, profitability, customer segmentation, growth opportunities, and value-based selling principles. Participate in deal reviews and commercial planning activities.

Product Growth & Activation:

Collaborate with product, marketing, and design teams to translate product capabilities into customer value propositions. Support customer presentations, sales enablement initiatives, growth strategies, and category-specific messaging.

Direct Sales Execution:

Apply acquired skills in a customer-facing sales environment with responsibility for developing and advancing a pipeline of target accounts. Participate in prospecting, discovery conversations, proposal development, negotiation support, and new business strategy development.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Communications, Supply Chain, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
  • Recent graduate or early-career professional seeking a career in commercial leadership, sales, or account management.
  • Ability to travel as required throughout the program..
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship, co-op, or project experience in sales, customer service, marketing, business analytics, supply chain, or related commercial functions.
  • Experience presenting recommendations or project work to leadership, customers, or stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, reporting tools, or data analysis.

Program Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the program, participants will develop:

  • Commercial fluency across customer success, sales operations, pricing, segmentation, demand and supply planning, product growth, and sales execution.
  • The ability to independently generate qualified opportunities, manage customer relationships, and contribute to closing new business.
  • Strong category expertise within Beer, Spirits, Food, or Non-Alcoholic Beverage markets.
  • Experience leading projects, presenting recommendations, and collaborating across multiple business functions.

Performance & Development

Progress throughout the program will be supported through:

  • Mentorship from commercial leaders and rotation managers.
  • Monthly development and pipeline reviews.
  • End-of-rotation presentations and project deliverables.
  • Ongoing feedback and coaching.
  • A final capstone presentation focused on category growth and new business strategy.

Career Path

Upon completion of the program, participants will be positioned for future opportunities within O-I's commercial organization, including Commercial Account Manager and other customer-facing commercial leadership roles.

Salary: $60,050
