About the Position
The Senior Program Manager, Stewardship acts as the strategic lead for critical stewardship programs within the Stewardship Department, with primary responsibility for endowment, current-use fund and other donor-facing reporting. The position provides strategy, leadership and execution for assigned programs and facilitates additional projects as assigned by the Managing Director of Stewardship or Donor Relations leadership.
What You'll Be Doing
Manage Stewardship Programs
- Lead the strategy, planning, implementation and execution of the OHSU Foundation's endowment, current-use fund, impact and other donor-facing reporting programs.
- Establish a clear vision and strategic direction for reporting programs, considering the full donor experience, the complete reporting process, organizational priorities and internal partners.
- Translate strategy into coordinated annual plans, timelines, processes, communications and deliverables, maintaining accountability for program quality, consistency and completion.
- Serve as the primary subject-matter leader and trusted partner for stewardship reporting, providing proactive guidance, consultation and problem-solving support to development officers, faculty, OHSU partners and Foundation leadership.
- Develop strategic direction for assigned programs, identifying opportunities for programmatic growth and evolution and leading implementation of those improvements.
- Partner with development officers and OHSU Foundation leadership to facilitate donor stewardship activities and gifts, as needed.
- Report program and project progress to leadership and appropriate stakeholders as needed.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all programs.
- Develop and manage systems to monitor and track progress of annual programs.
- Oversee additional ongoing Stewardship programs and projects as needed, including lectureship stewardship, donor recognition and signage, and endowed position stewardship.
Department Support
- Assist in creating personalized correspondence, writing and editing as directed by the Managing Director of Stewardship.
- Interface with OHSU and OHSU Foundation leaders, trustees, volunteers, donors, prospects and faculty.
- Enter and manage actions, notes and next steps in constituent database.
- Coordinate meetings as needed or requested.
- Provide general support for manager as needed.
- Oversee other projects and duties as assigned.
Skills and Competencies
- Ability to conceptualize, oversee and execute complex processes, providing leadership and vision for their continued development and evolution.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills; experience creating professional letters, spreadsheets and presentations.
- Exceptional attention to detail and time management/organizational skills.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interact professionally, diplomatically and productively with colleagues and contacts at all levels.
- Experience coordinating and/or managing various projects and tasks while regularly troubleshooting, adjusting and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to identify creative solutions that work and fall within constraints (time, budget, quality).
- Ability to take initiative, be self-directed and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint; advanced skills preferred.
- Working knowledge of basic design programs.
- Compassionate and culturally responsive; maintains an ability to work with internal and external individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences.
You Should Have
- 5+ years' experience with project management or program management, preferably in a higher education, healthcare or nonprofit fundraising environment.
Preferred Experience
- Project management experience.
- Experience working in a fundraising environment.
- Experience creating donor-facing communications.
- Understanding of complex endowment and other donor-facing reporting processes.

Pay
Salary is dependent on experience. Each salary band is broken into three "steps," which correspond with an employee’s experience/tenure, proficiency and performance in that specific role. New employees will typically start at step I of our pay band to allow for later growth, although more experienced candidates may be eligible to start at step II or III. The OHSU Foundation has a structured process for determining starting compensation, taking into account years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge and abilities, market parity, and internal equity.
