Project context

Prysmian is global leading cable manufacturer with high sustainable ambitions. See also ESG KPI’s in the annual report. Within Europe there are taskforces with various projects to lower environmental impact and add value to customers and better world. These projects vary from packaging, recycled content in products, smart design, renewable energy to electric transport.

For Netherlands there is a challenge to structure all activities and make more clear what we do. If this is clear we can also focus on areas where we need to develop more, investigate more or communicate more.

With this project we aim to have better visibility of our sustainable actions in the market and can also focus better on our sustainable action internally. This is not limited to products but includes also recycle loops, drum return, packaging etc. It is crucial to Integrate sustainability into the way we do business and operate in Prysmian and to create value for our stakeholders.

Problem Statement

Lacking clear overview of sustainability actions with analyses. This gives also not always good vision where to focus and how.

Research Focus

Research should consist of all sustainable actions we do in Netherlands and Europe. Seach for best practice and read about industrial trends in sustainability. How is this connected to all regulations that are coming in next years so we are prepared. Examples PPWR and CPR.

Design Challenge

Idea is to analyse what we do in sustainability in Prysmian (Netherlands). Structure the data/projects in an umbrella concept to be developed called Pry-Cycle with few pillars below. Find gaps and work one out in more detail, like packaging. Make sure the Pry-Cycle concept is live 1st of January 2027 and work together with marketing for roll-ou
