Job Description
Your responsibilities day to day will be…
- Ownership of the payroll analysis processes within Fuel and Central Cost Finance, covering the majority of our colleagues across the group.
- Own the control and reconciliation of the payroll related balance sheet, ensuring best practice and aligning payrolls into the centralised process.
- Opportunity to redevelop and implement new ways of working, to maximise efficiency and quality of reporting.
- Working with stakeholders to build budget plans, review headcount and structure, and help the business take insight and action from their numbers.
- Ensuring a quality year end audit pack is delivered to the auditors at the end of the financial year.
- Develop relationships with other finance stakeholders and deliver insight on the key cost driver of salaries to enable these stakeholders to improve performance.
- Support and mentor a trainee management accountant to deliver high quality performance
- You will be a champion of finance processes and systems providing proactive assistance, support and guidance to the team, to drive continuous improvement and efficiencies and adherence to Group policy
- Support the senior finance management team with ad hoc projects, and the budgeting process.
Qualifications
Experience/Skills Required:
- AAT qualified, part-qualified, or currently studying towards an AAT qualification is desirable
- Experience of working in a Finance related role
- Strong excel and modelling skills, preferably advanced level
- Experience with data preparation and transformation on large datasets
- Ability to build a strong rapport with members of the Finance Team and across the organisation
- Experience of interacting across all levels of the organisation including dealing with non-finance people to gather relevant information
- Able to work under pressure and effectively prioritise to achieve strict deadlines and targets
- Strong commercial awareness
- Excellent attention to detail
- Experience of working within a fast-paced entrepreneurial business desirable
