Ramboll is seeking an entry-level to mid-level consultant to join the Risk Assessment and Community Health group in one of the firm’s Oakland, CA office. Hybrid work arrangements are available, with office presence required at least two days a week.

Your new role

As an entry-level health sciences consultant at Ramboll, you will support a range of human health risk assessment and community health projects in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Your work will include independent, detail-oriented technical tasks as well as coordination with colleagues and project teams. Projects may be related to hazardous waste and other contaminated sites, Brownfield redevelopment, vapor intrusion, ambient and indoor air quality, product safety, regulatory interactions, community engagement, and litigation. Tasks may include data management, statistical analysis, fate and transport modeling, spatial analysis, sampling/remediation/risk management planning, and technical reporting. This is a unique opportunity to work with Ramboll experts to advance your technical and consulting skills.

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Compiling, organizing, and managing environmental data and databases; performing statistical and geospatial analyses of environmental and health data.
• Evaluating the environmental fate and transport of chemicals
• Estimating human exposures to chemicals in different environmental media (e.g., air, soil, sediment, fish tissue, produce, water, etc.) and exposure scenarios, and calculating associated health risks.
• Assisting with preparation of technical reports, written communication, proposals, and presentations
• Reviewing and evaluating technical documents (e.g., scientific articles, regulations)

Qualifications

About you

• Advanced degree (M.S., MPH or equivalent) in Environmental Science or Engineering, Environmental Health Science and/or Environmental Toxicology

• Exemplary individuals with bachelor’s degree and 2 + years of relevant experience may be considered.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, organizational, problem-solving, critical thinking skills, and time management skills; excellent written and oral communication skills
• 2+ years of chemistry coursework required. 
• Current authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis, where required for the position.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Knowledge of risk assessment, exposure assessment, and fate and transport of chemicals in the environment
• Proficiency with MS Office; experience with MS Access or other relational databases (e.g., SQL) for managing, querying, and analyzing environmental data.
• Demonstrated strong quantitative and problem-solving skills; experienced with statistical and data analysis using R, Python, SQL, or SAS
• GIS capability is a plus.
• Experience reviewing and evaluating technical documents, scientific articles, regulations, and regulatory guidance.

Salary Transparency Statement

At Ramboll, we are committed to fair and transparent compensation practices that support our people and our purpose of creating sustainable societies. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $79,040–$98,800 per year. This range reflects the compensation we reasonably expect to offer at the time of posting. Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and internal equity. Because we operate across multiple U.S. markets, pay may differ depending on the cost of labor in specific locations. In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for bonus, overtime or other forms of compensation and we offer a comprehensive benefits package that supports well-being, professional development, and work-life balance.
