Lead UI Artist - MONOPOLY GO!
Scopely is looking for a Lead UI Artist to join our MONOPOLY GO! team in Barcelona (Spain) on a hybrid basis!
At Scopely, we care deeply about what we do and want to inspire play, every day - whether in our work environments alongside our talented colleagues, or through our deep connections with our communities of players. We are a global team of game lovers who are developing, publishing and innovating the mobile games industry, connecting millions of people around the world daily.
MONOPOLY GO! is a global phenomenon and the biggest mobile game launch in history, captivating millions of players worldwide. The team is based in Europe and the US and works daily to create captivating new experiences for our players.
Lead UI Artist
Every interaction in Monopoly GO! is an opportunity to make the game feel intuitive, polished, and unmistakably ours. Great UI guides players effortlessly through the experience while bringing clarity, personality, and delight to every screen.
The craft of UI design is evolving just as quickly as the game itself, and we expect our Lead UI Artist to help define where it goes next. While AI's role in UI is still emerging, experimentation and fluency with evolving design tools are increasingly important. Here, your influence extends beyond individual screens to evolving design systems and workflows that help artists make consistently strong decisions at scale.
If you're energized by solving complex design problems, developing the people around you, and creating the principles and systems that allow great UI to remain great as the game grows, you'll find no shortage of opportunities here.
What You Will Do
- Establish and uphold the UI vision each season, in partnership with the Art Director and Product/UX leads.
- Set the bar for quality and technical craft, while exploring where AI-assisted workflows can meaningfully improve UI design and production, turning successful experimentation into practices the wider team can adopt.
- Own and continuously improve UI's design-system standards and guideline documentation, partnering with UX and Tech Art on implementation.
- Manage and mentor the discipline, owning performance reviews, goal-setting, and team health.
- Take part in hiring to make sure new hires are the right fit, and champion the team's culture.
- Be the primary point of contact and voice for UI, coordinating the discipline's work with the rest of production, from planning through delivery.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years practical UI/design experience in games (mobile preferred), including 3+ years leading, mentoring, and setting the design bar for a team.
- Demonstrated fluency with AI-assisted creative tools and the judgment to evaluate where emerging workflows can improve quality, iteration, or efficiency within UI design and production.
- Track record shipping multiple mobile titles' UI systems in casual/whimsical art styles, partnering across Design, UX, and Engineering to deliver consistent, high-quality user experiences.
- Expert-level UI/UX and graphic design skills, including typography, iconography, and interaction design, backed by mastery of Photoshop, Illustrator, and Figma.
- Positive attitude and the ability to give and receive objective feedback.
Bonus
- Experience navigating the brand guidelines and approval pipeline of at least one externally-licensed IP.
- A passion for mobile gaming.
