Job Description

The Role

You own customer acquisition. Everything in this role exists to grow Searchable faster.

You sit at the intersection of product and growth and marketing. Half of our acquisition problem is getting the right buyer to the product. The other half is what the product does with them once they arrive: signup, onboarding, the first report, the upgrade option. You own both halves. You form hypotheses about why people do or don't convert, test them with Product and Engineering inside the product itself, and ship what wins.

We want someone who has already done this. You have taken a B2B software company through the stage we are entering, you know which channels break at which scale, and you can show the numbers. You have scaled from $5-10m to $30-$40m fast.

We also want someone who builds growth the way it will be built for the next ten years. You use AI agents and automation to do the work a 10-person growth team did in 2022, and you build the systems yourself.

You report to the Head Of Product and CEO. You also work closely with the Head Of Product, Head Of Engineering, Head of GTM, the Head of Sales Development, the Head of SEO/AEO and Paid marketing.

What You'll Do

Own the acquisition number

  • Carry a quarterly target for new customers, qualified pipeline and new ARR sourced by growth.

  • Own CAC, payback period and channel-level unit economics. Know by Monday morning what last week cost and what it returned.

  • Set the acquisition budget and move it weekly towards whatever is working.

Find and scale the channels

  • Run paid, outbound, partnerships, events, creator and founder-led content, and product-led acquisition as one system with one pipeline number.

  • Find the two or three channels that can each carry 30%+ of new pipeline, then scale them until they break.

  • Kill channels that don't have clear pay back or value add. We expect most tests to fail and want them to fail in two weeks, not two quarters.

  • Build acquisition for both motions: self-serve entry plans and large custom contracts with agencies and enterprise brands.

Build it AI-native

  • Ship your own tooling. If a workflow needs a script, an agent or an internal tool, you build the first version yourself in days.

  • Set the standard for how the growth team works: every repeatable task is automated before a person is hired to do it.

  • Use our own product and data to grow us. We sell AI search visibility, so our acquisition should be the best case study we have.

Run growth experiments with Product

  • Own the growth experiment backlog jointly with Product. Every experiment starts with a written hypothesis, a success metric, a cost cap and a kill criterion.

  • Ship experiments every week across landing pages, signup, onboarding, pricing and packaging, free tools, in-product prompts and referral.

  • Own the conversion funnel from first visit to paying customer: visit to signup, signup to activation, activation to paid. A one percentage point lift here is often worth more than a new channel.

  • Turn the product into an acquisition channel: free audits, shareable reports, white-label surfaces and anything else that puts Searchable in front of a new buyer through an existing one.

  • Bring what you learn from channels back into the roadmap. If buyers keep asking for something in ads, outbound replies or demos, the product team hears it from you with data that week.

  • Keep a public experiment log the whole company can read, including the failures. We want you to drive this conversion, commercial focused behaviour throughout the organisation.

Build the team and report the numbers

  • Hire a small team of builders or repurpose from existing business.

  • Report acquisition performance to the head of product and CEO weekly.

About You

You have done it before

  • You have personally owned customer acquisition at a B2B SaaS company through a period of at least 3x ARR growth, ideally from under $5/10m to $30/50m+.

  • You can name the channels you scaled, what you spent, the CAC and payback you hit, and what broke along the way.

  • You have built an acquisition engine from a low base. Inheriting a working machine and optimising it does not count.

  • You have sold to marketing teams, agencies or enterprise brands, and you know how those buyers find and choose software.

  • You have managed a seven-figure annual acquisition budget and been accountable for its return.

You work across product and growth

  • You have run product growth experiments in a previous role and can show the hypotheses, the results and what shipped.

  • You have worked inside a product team, written specs engineers built from, and held a share of a roadmap.

  • You are fluent in product analytics, including when a result is not significant enough to act on.

  • You have improved signup, activation or trial-to-paid conversion by a number you can state.

You are AI native

  • You have built and shipped AI agents or automations that replaced real headcount or manual work in a growth function. You can show us them.

  • You work in tools like Claude, Claude Code, Clay, n8n and Cursor every day.

  • You are comfortable in SQL and can pull your own numbers without waiting on an analyst.

  • Your default question for any task is "why is a person doing this?"

You operate like an owner

  • You are hands-on. In your first six months you will build campaigns, write copy and wire up tooling yourself.

  • You make decisions on incomplete data and correct them within days.

  • You are direct about what is not working, including your own bets.

What you can expect from us

  • Salary: £150,000

  • Meaningful early-stage equity pre Series A

  • 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays

  • Enhanced salary sacrifice pension

  • Workplace nursery scheme

  • Monthly fitness and wellbeing reimbursement

  • Flexibility in hours – around life and family commitments
