This role requires a strong understanding of the accrual basis of accounting, a strong sense of organization, and a proactive approach to process improvement. Advanced Excel skills, strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and cross-functionally are essential, along with a commitment to accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with U.S. GAAP and company standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Here are the core functions, responsibilities, and expectations for this role:
- Coordinate with international accounting and operational teams to obtain billing information and support revenue accounting activities across global legal entities.
- Review billing and invoice activity from multiple source systems and validate consistency between customer contracts, sales orders, Salesforce opportunities, and revenue accounting records.
- Analyze customer usage and deposit activity from operational systems and maintain supporting schedules to ensure accurate accounting and revenue recognition treatment.
- Maintain deferred revenue schedules, including revenue amortization, reconciliations, and month-end support across multiple legal entities.
- Execute critical aspects of the monthly close process across multiple entities and currencies, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses, ensuring timely and accurate reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, legal, sales, operations, and global accounting teams to assess results, and flag complex transactions for management review.
- Identify opportunities to improve, automate, and standardize revenue accounting processes, reconciliations, and reporting workflows.
- Support the review of revenue transactions and accounting conclusions under ASC 606 by preparing analyses, supporting schedules, and documentation for management review.

- The targeted compensation package for this role is between INR 8,00,000 and INR 10,00,000, subject upon internal equity and years of experience. We may make further adjustments through an approval process if the targeted compensation range needs to be modified based on business needs and market trends.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline.
Experience:
- Experience analyzing large transactional datasets using Excel and performing complex reconciliations between source systems, billing records, and accounting schedules.

- Experience supporting accounting activities across multiple legal entities and currencies preferred.
Talents and Desired Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accrual-based accounting principles.

- Proficiency with accounting ERP systems such as NetSuite, or similar platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Demonstrates curiosity and a willingness to investigate variances, inconsistencies, and data anomalies rather than simply processing information received from source systems.
- Strong attention to detail with consistent accuracy in executing accounting processes, even as procedures evolve.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills; able to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Effective communicator with strong verbal and written skills; comfortable presenting ideas, identifying risks, and recommending process improvements.
