Specialty Pharmacist

Shift: 8 hour shifts between 7:00am - 5:30pm M-F and a rotation Saturday of 7:00am - 3:30pm

Job Purpose:

Provides integrated support to patients and physicians by providing a 'hands-on" approach to total quality patient care through the coordination across specialty and retail services to ensure seamless patient transitions and timely access to medications.  The pharmacist will be expected to manage both retail and specialty pharmacy operations, ensuring the safe and effective dispensing of medications, while also providing patient counseling and clinical support. 

Job Duties:

• Prepares and dispenses medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders; detecting therapeutic incompatibilities;
• Medication therapy management, including reviewing and monitoring of medication regimens, advising clinicians on evidence-based therapy as indicated, documenting interventions;
• Completes pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing technicians' work flow; verifying their preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals; verifying prescriptions; care coordination, identifying and resolving insurance
