Job Description

The Role… 

At Soho House, a Sushi Chef will consistently produce dishes that reflect authenticity, creativity, and quality, while maintaining food safety standards and contributing positively to the kitchen team. This role will also involve working closely with the Head Chef to innovate and refine sushi offerings for the Club’s diverse clientele

Your main responsibility will be for the preparation, crafting, and presentation of high-quality sushi dishes, sashimi, and Japanese-inspired small plates. The role requires precise knife skills, a refined palate, and a strong understanding of traditional and modern sushi techniques.

Key duties…

  • Maintain quality control in terms of portion sizes, presentation, taste, and texture. 
  • Uphold excellent hygiene and food safety standards in line with HACCP and club policies, with particular care for allergens and dietary requests. 
  • Be flexible in assisting other areas of the kitchen when required.
  • Monitor quality and freshness of fish and seafood; report issues with inventory or quality to management 
  • Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in menu development, portion control, and food costing. 
  • Prepare sushi dishes including nigiri, maki, sashimi, and hand rolls to specification
