About the role
The Image Direction Specialist is responsible for executing real-time switching and on-air control within SportyNet’s digital television environment. This professional works inside the channel’s switcher/control room, ensuring seamless transitions, correct execution of breaks, insertion of graphics and promos, and maintaining the integrity of the broadcast signal.
Acting as a key link between Production, MCR, Engineering, and Programming, the Switcher Room Operator ensures that every on-air output matches the channel’s technical, editorial, and timing requirements.
What you'll be doing
Live Switching & On-Air Execution
- Operate switcher/control room systems during live shows, continuity blocks, replays, and special broadcasts
- Execute transitions, cuts, wipes, and on-air graphic elements according to the rundown or control-room cues
- Trigger commercial breaks, promos, channel IDs, and sponsored content at precise timing
- Follow instructions from directors, producers, and technical supervisors during live broadcasts
Technical Signal Monitoring & On-Air Quality Control
- Monitor outgoing program feed for video quality, audio
