Software Engineer - Java

At Squarespace, we firmly believe that design is not merely "how it looks" but "how it works." With this in mind, our backend engineers work on R&D Engineering teams, which are dedicated to creating the most seamless, integrated products possible. This is a hybrid role working from our NYC office 3 days per week. You will report to the R&D Engineering Team Lead.

We are hiring for the following R&D team(s):

Squarespace Payments is dedicated to simplifying the financial side of commerce, enabling merchants to securely and reliably collect payments from their customers with minimal effort. Our team's mission is to build and maintain systems that allow merchants to focus on what matters most: growing their brand.

You'll Get To…

• Write server-side code, create high-volume production applications, and develop prototypes quickly.
• Collaborate with other engineers and designers to provide intuitive customer-focused experiences.
• Ensure the reliability of systems essential to Squarespace users and businesses powered by Squarespace.

Who We're Looking For

• 4+ years of development experience in Java, Python, Go or another Object-oriented language. Experience developing large-scale software.
