Steamship Mutual is a P&I insurance company, with 250 employees worldwide. The main office is based near Liverpool Street station, London. We also have offices in Bermuda, Brazil, Cyprus, Greece, Hong Kong, Japan, New York & Singapore.

Overall Job Purpose: 

The role sits within the European Syndicate and is responsible for delivering P&I and FDD (Freight, Demurrage and Defence) claims handling services and advice to Members. The portfolio will primarily cover Members based in Greece and Switzerland, with additional exposure to other European and Middle Eastern regions.

Key Responsibilities:

• To promote the relationship between the Club and existing Members for which the Claims team is responsible.
• To handle assigned claims in accordance with company procedures, provide advice on claims related issues and identify the need for loss prevention activity.
• Handling a wide range of P&I issues and a substantial Defence caseload, including complex and high value matters.
• Working with a high degree of independence, taking ownership and responsibility for your caseload, but seeking advice and supportive guidance from your Syndicate Manager or Claims Directors as appropriate.
