Contracts & Supply Chain Summer 2027 Internship

STR is seeking a Summer 2024 Procurement Intern looking to gain practical experience in the field of Supply Chain.  STR’s mission is to make the world a safer place.  In this internship, you will directly support that mission by supporting STR’s advanced technology development programs finding Procurement solutions to meet our Program and Customer needs. You will assist in defining business solutions that enable STR to execute its contractual commitments while forging impactful relationships with internal stakeholders.  You will understand why it is important to foster strong and trustful working relationships with suppliers and how success requires a team.

 In this internship, you will:

• Work with different types of contract vehicles
• Gain exposure to different STR technology areas and mission/system applications.
• Support supplier source selection, subcontract/purchase order placement, cost/price analysis, record keeping, negotiations, documentation preparation, subcontract/purchase order maintenance, and supplier management.
• Assist in the preparation of Requests for Proposal/Quotes, analysis and evaluation of proposals, negotiation of subcontract provisions, and ‘cradle to grave’ subcontract/purchase order administration.
• Gain an understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARS) and Defense
