Corporate Tax Analyst
Team description
SumUp's Compliance and Control tax team keeps corporate income tax filings accurate and on time across more than 38 entities in Europe and Australia, protecting the business from compliance and governance risk. You'll sit at the centre of that work, preparing draft tax returns and supporting workpapers, managing a live compliance calendar, and coordinating directly with external advisors, while the Corporate Tax Principal owns the technical positions and final sign off. It's a chance to build real, hands on expertise across multiple jurisdictions from day one, working alongside a small, collaborative tax team that values clear communication over guesswork.
What you'll do
-
Prepare draft corporate income tax (CIT) returns and supporting workpapers for entities in scope, based on positions set by the Corporate Tax Principal
-
Maintain a master compliance calendar covering filing deadlines, payments and statutory submissions, flagging risks early
-
Coordinate day to day with local tax advisors on data requests, drafts and timelines
-
Run pre filing checks and reconciliations, including tax return to general ledger tie outs
-
Keep audit ready documentation for every filing, including return packages, reconciliations and sign offs
-
Support wider tax team initiatives, including work to standardise templates and improve automation
You'll be great for this role if…
-
Experience preparing corporate income tax returns and audit ready workpapers, gained in a Big 4, mid-tier firm or in house tax team
-
Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups and building structured reconciliation files
-
Comfort working with ERP outputs (ideally SAP) and financial statements
-
Ability to manage multiple deadlines across several jurisdictions and advisors without losing sight of the detail
-
Clear, confident English communication, with the judgement to flag questions and risks early rather than guess
